Juventus defender Alex Sandro out for six weeks

Juventus left-back Alex Sandro has been ruled out of action for up to six weeks after suffering a thigh strain.

The 32-year-old broke down in training yesterday and according to the club’s website, has already begun his rehabilitation process as he starts his way back to full fitness.

The Brazilian is likely to miss all of October through injury for The Old Lady who have surprised most pundits with their good start to the campaign.

Despite finishing last season with a points penalty amid internal turmoil which at one stage looked like it would end the tenure of manager Max Allegri, Juventus have gone about their business quietly at the beginning of this season, picking up three wins and one draw in their first four matches leaving them second in Serie A.

Sandro was an unused sub in Juve’s 3-1 victory over Lazio on Saturday which saw the return to form of previously misfiring Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic, who scored twice.
