Young Arsenal star Folarin Balogun is set to extend his stay in Ligue 1 by signing for Olympique Marseille on a permanent basis in the summer

The England Under-21 international, born in Brooklyn, New York, has had a phenomenal breakthrough season on loan from Arsenal at French club Reims this season under the stewardship of fellow Englishman Will Still, scoring 18 goals in 30 Ligue 1 appearances.

This has caught the eye of many top European clubs, including Olympique Marseille who are at the top of the list for the striker’s services, according to Foot Mercado journalist Santi Aouna.

Fellow Ligue 1 club Lille are also interested as well as AC Milan and RB Leipzig, whose reputation for developing young talent is well known.

Balogun could well be tempted by staying in France, a league he has now become accustomed to with Olympique Marseille potentially offering the youngster Champions League football next season with OM currently second in the table, eight points behind Paris Saint-Germain with seven games left.
