Young USMNT star forward is close to joining Dutch side PSV Eindhoven on a permanent deal.

The Texan native, 20, has impressed on loan at fellow Dutch side FC Groningen this season, scoring 12 goals in the Eredivisie this term for the Pride of the North.

Ricardo Pepi set to move to the Dutch Cup winners

It was reported last week that Pepi was set to move to PSV’s Eredivisie rivals Feyenoord, with Arne Slot said to be a big fan of the American hitman.

But according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, PSV have won the race for Pepi’s signature whilst the forward currently trains with the USMNT first team ahead of next week’s CONCACAF Nations League Semi-Final with Mexico.

In February, Pepi was the only player outside the big three Dutch clubs to be named in the Eredivisie Team of the Month despite playing for then-relegation-threatened Groningen. An undisclosed fee between PSV and current employers Augsburg is already believed to have been agreed with Pepi requesting a quick and seamless transfer.
