Fantasy Football ones to watch season 2018/19 gameweek 29

|

After a short hiatus, our ones to watch are back for gameweek 29 of FPL. Our four ones to watch in gameweek 26 produced mixed results. Here are the ones to watch for gameweek 29:

Mat Ryan (Brighton, £4.4million)

Brighton have been on a terrible run of form of late in the Premier League that has seen the Seagulls slip towards the relegation zone. However, Chris Hughton’s side now has a favourable run of games starting with a home outing against struggling Huddersfield on Saturday, a game the Seagulls are favourites to win.

Ryan was an early season FPL favourite, until just before the former Valencia star left for the Asia Games with Australia. At £4.4million, Ryan could prove to be a value asset, as the Seagulls head into those that aforementioned favourable run of games in the top-flight.

James Maddison (Leicester, £6.6million)

The young attacking midfielder started his debut campaign in good form. However, as the Foxes form dipped in the latter stages of Claude Puel’s reign, so did Maddison. However, the appointment of the attack-minded Brendan Rodgers should boost Maddison’s prospects of points.

In fact, the midfielder has shown signs of recovering his early season form in recent games. The former Norwich star has created 21 chances in the last four gameweeks, which is six more than other Premier League player.

A trip to Watford cannot be considered an easy game, but none of the Foxes never seven matches rank above three in the FPL difficulty ranking. Good fixtures and a game in gameweek 31 make the playmaker seem a very viable FPL option.

Sean Longstaff (Newcastle, £4.5million)

The 21-year-old has made a big impact for the Magpies since his introduction to the first team a few weeks ago. The youngster has now started Newcastle’s last seven league matches impressing with his work rate and enthusiasm.

Longstaff scored his first senior goal in the 2-0 home win over Burnley last time out. It was only his second attacking returning after producing an assist in the Magpies shock 2-1 win over Manchester City. However, the midfielder has been unlucky not to have earned more FPL points in recent weeks.

He is emerging as a potential enabler for FPL teams, especially as Newcastle have a good run of fixtures, starting with a trip to inconsistent West Ham this week.

Jamie Vardy (Leicester, £8.9million)

The England striker has been inconsistent this season, as he admitted that Puel’s style of play did not suit him. Despite not enjoying a great season, Vardy has still scored nine league goals and produced three assists.

There have been signs he may be set for a revival in recent league matches, as the England international has scored twice in his last three outings, including one from the substitute bench against Tottenham. The aforementioned favourable fixtures to come for the Foxes also mean that he could prove to be a very good mid-price striking option for FPL teams. He is always a danger to the opposition and can see him delivering this weekend.
