Eden Hazard deserves the chance to move to Real Madrid

|

Real Madrid are one of the biggest clubs in world football. Some would argue the biggest, with very few clubs having enjoyed the success that Los Blancos have enjoyed over the years. Therefore, it is understandable that Chelsea winger Eden Hazard hopes to join Zinedine Zidane’s outfit this summer.

Big move in doubt

Many expected the 28-year-old to complete a £100million move to the Spanish capital this summer. However, according to the Metro, Chelsea may well scupper the winger’s dream move to Spain.

The Blues are currently in the midst of a transfer ban, which runs until the summer of 2020. However, the club from south west London have appealed the ban and took it to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

If the appeal fails, that means that Chelsea would be unable to sign a replacement for the diminutive dynamo until next summer. Hazard’s current Chelsea contract expires next summer, so the Blues would lose out on receiving a fee should they deny Hazard a summer move.

Reportedly, the winger wanted to move on last summer, only for Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri to convince the Belgian to stay until this summer. If the speculation is correct then the winger will leave as a free agent summer, but would no doubt not be happy about the club denying him a move.

Deserves to be challenging for the big trophies

This season has been a rarity for Real Madrid, as they have struggled to challenge for La Liga and the Champions League. However, Los Blancos boss Zidane is planning on a big money squad overhaul this summer, which could transform the team’s fortunes.

Real Madrid will be expected to challenge for the Spanish title and of course the Champions League. However, Hazard’s current club are far from challengers for the Premier League title and would unlikely to be able to mount a realistic challenge for Europe’s elite competition.

Hazard’s teammates are currently nowhere near the Belgian’s level. In fact, not many players in the world possess Hazard’s abilities. There is an argument that if he had played for Real Madrid or even rivals Barcelona for seven years that he would be challenging for the Ballon d’Or he is quite simply that good.

However, although appreciated by many at Chelsea, his talent is often underappreciated because Chelsea have been so up and down during the winger’s seven-year career at Stamford Bridge.

He probably will join Real Madrid

At this moment in time, it looks more likely that Hazard will join Real Madrid this summer than he won’t. Real Madrid wants him, Hazard wants the move and Chelsea seem highly unlikely to allow him to leave as a free agent next summer. In fact, Los Blancos are red hot favourites to sign the Belgian forward this summer.

If he does move to Madrid, then Hazard could well move to the next level in Spain. It would be harsh for Chelsea to keep him after the years of service he has given them. However, you can understand the Blues reluctant to sell the winger, without a replacement.

If Eden Hazard moves to Real Madrid then it will be one of the biggest transfers of the summer. The Belgian international will be a big loss to the Premier League, but an even bigger loss to the Blues.

Will Eden Hazard be plying his trade at Real Madrid next season?
