The Premier League is, as we all know by now, one of the hardest divisions in world football – and that’ll continue to be the case for a long time to come. This weekend helped to prove that once again with a string of fun and entertaining matches, and today, we’re going to be highlighting three in particular.

The whole league, really, has been able to step up to the plate when it matters the most, providing entertainment for fans both young and old in the midst of the worst health crisis in our lifetime. They have fought tooth and nail both for their own clubs and for the fans, and when supporters are eventually allowed back into stadiums, they will be the first ones to voice their appreciation as we gear up for an entirely new era in the post-COVID world.

You can continue to place bets on games throughout the course of the season through the betting page, but our aim right now is to praise three clubs who are on fire in the top flight: Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Chelsea.

Tottenham 2-0 Manchester City

Jose Mourinho often receives a great deal of grief due to his managerial style as well as his perceived arrogance in interviews, but if there’s one thing this man knows how to do, it’s win. The Portuguese boss was able to mastermind another phenomenal Spurs performance against Manchester City this past weekend and while it may not have blown anyone away in terms of their overall quality, they really did silence those critics who were of the belief that Pep’s men would run riot.

They’re top of the Premier League table after nine games, and there is no reason to believe they can’t continue to be in the title race mix between now and May.

Liverpool 3-0 Leicester

Injury problems? What injury problems?

Liverpool fans were relentlessly informed by rival supporters that they were going to struggle against Leicester City, if only because of how the Foxes have started the campaign alongside the absences that the Reds had to deal with. In the end, though, they put all of that talk to one side, and they just focused on maintaining their fantastic league record at Anfield.

This team continues to surprise people and after City’s loss, there’s no question that they are the strong favourites to retain their Premier League crown.

Newcastle 0-2 Chelsea

Many, many people raised an eyebrow when Frank Lampard took charge at Stamford Bridge, and they did the same thing when the Blues struggled to find their top form in the early stages of the new campaign. Now, however, they’re having to eat their words as Chelsea enter themselves into the title race conversation. Even if they don’t win the title this is a sign that Lampard could be building something really special in South London, and given his youth, you’d have to think he is going to be around for quite some time to come – so long as he can maintain this consistency.
