The games are coming at us thick and fast, as no sooner has gameweek 15 finished, gameweek 16 kicks off, on Monday in fact. We didn’t do too badly with our gameweek 15 picks, with three of our four picks producing points. Two also produced bonus points. Here are our picks for gameweek 16:

Charlie Taylor (Burnley, £4.5m)

The full-back is starting to become a very good budget defensive FPL option. Taylor has played every minute of the Clarets campaign so far. Sean Dyche’s team started the season in poor form, but their form has picked up of late. The improvement in form has led to Taylor picking up five or more points in five of his last eight appearances.

On Tuesday evening, Taylor and his team visit the league’s bottom of the table Sheffield United, who are the joint-lowest scorers in the league, ironically alongside Burnley. The Blades really have struggled in front of goal, so a clean sheet in this fixture looks likely.

Kieran Tierney (Arsenal,£5.3m)

The Scotland international has been slightly unfortunate not to pick up more points this season. He has been one of the Gunners best players in a difficult campaign so far. The former Celtic star has played at wing-back and centre-back this season. Tierney was a big attacking threat when he played for the hosts, but he has held back playing for Arsenal, especially playing at centre-back.

However, Tierney produced his first assist of the campaign in the 3-1 home win over Chelsea last time out in the Premier League. The Gunners have a very promising fixture list coming up including a trip to Brighton next time out before an away game against West Brom.

Bukayo Saka (Arsenal, £5.1m)

Like Tierney, Saka has arguably been unlucky not to have a better points tally this season. Also, like his Scottish teammate, he has been one of the brighter players in Arsenal’s woeful recent form. The 19-year-old has started the last six games for Mikel Arteta’s team. He finally got his reward for his lively displays last time out, as he scored and also produced an assist in the win over Chelsea.

The aforementioned favourable upcoming will give Saka a chance to add to his points tally. At £5.1m, Saka looks to be a bargain, especially if the Gunners form improves. He is more than just an enabler though, as he showed last season. Do you fancy Saka to add to his recent goals and assists tally and want to place a bet? Ilkay Gundogan (Manchester City, £5.4m)

The Germany international has hit the goal trail of late, scoring two goals in his last three league games. City have started to produce more consistent form of late and the former Dortmund man has played a role in that return to form.

He picked up a slight knock in the Citizens 2-0 win over Newcastle last time out but is expected to shake off the injury time to face Everton on Monday night. Despite their recent good run of league form, the Toffees are down to the bare bones of their squad and played as recently as Saturday evening. This clash could give Gundogan the chance to add to those two goals this season.
