The Premier League has reached gameweek five and already we have managed to pick up a decent haul of points. Three of our four picks delivered points and we are hoping for a full house in gameweek five. Here are our gameweek FPL picks:

Marcal (Wolves, £4.6m)

The experienced full-back has emerged as a very good budget option for the team from the Midlands, who on paper have a promising set of fixtures over the next few gameweeks. In fact, Wolves’ next three games all rank 2 in the fixture difficulty rating, while the two fixtures afterwards rank 3.

Marcal was a major attacking threat last time out as Bruno Lage’s team recorded a 2-0 win at new boys Watford. He picked up two assists and arguably could have had a good against the Hornets. A home match against Brentford this weekend offers the Brazilian a chance at further points.

Paul Pogba (Manchester United, £7.8m)

The French midfielder is a premium midfield option dressed as a mid-range option. His starting price of £7.5m reflected his inconsistency for the Red Devils in his second stint with the club.

However, the former Juventus star is enjoying the best season of his United career so far. Pogba has picked up seven assists in the opening four league games of the season, which is more than double the number of assists as the next best assister in the English top-flight.

Some may say he is putting himself in the shop window, as his contract expires. Whatever the reasons for his form, though, he is emerging as a very good FPL asset. Many may overlook him for his teammates Cristiano Ronaldo and Mason Greenwood, but Pogba looks to be a fine option ahead of United’s trip to face West Ham this weekend.

Demarai Gray (Everton, £5.7m)

For a player worth less than £6m, the Toffees winger has proven tremendous value for money so far this season. The former Leicester star has scored in his last three league appearances for Rafa Benitez’s team. Incredibly, his three goals came from just three shots on goal, which illustrates his clinical edge in front of goal.

Everton faces a visit to Aston Villa on Saturday evening and Gray will look to continue his excellent start to life on Merseyside. Some may say that the winger cannot score every game, but the way he is playing, Demarai Gray is still a player who offers tremendous value for money, even if he can’t keep up his current rate of scoring.

Raul Jimenez (Wolves, £7.4m)

The Mexican forward is yet to score since his return from a serious head injury. However, his team did have a hard start to the season with games against Leicester, Tottenham and Manchester United.

The team from the Midlands look a far bigger attacking threat last time out at Watford, which will work in the forward’s favour. The fact that similarly priced forwards Michail Antonio and Dominic Calvert-Lewin will miss gameweek five make the former Benfica striker a good alternative to Leeds Patrick Bamford.

Do you fancy Raul Jimenez to get on the scoresheet against Brentford this weekend and wish to place a bet? Well, be sure to check out our betting page for the bookmakers we recommend for your bet.

Will any of our picks for gameweek five make your FPL squad?
