Crystal Palace will meet Leicester City at Selhurst Park as both clubs continue their unlikely push for a spot in the top six.

Crystal Palace (5/2)

Roy Hodgson has been able to guide this team to heights that they previously thought unthinkable, and the question now is just how much higher can they go? They’ve been able to keep hold of the key stars within their squad, and they still have that forward-thinking attacking movement that compliments their style perfectly. They live and die by the sword which will always ensure a few odd results here and there, but against Leicester, they’ll believe in their ability to get themselves over the finish line.

Palace’s inconsistency has cost them towards the top of the Premier League table in recent weeks, with their only two wins as of late coming against Norwich City and West Ham United. They were unfortunate to only get a point against Wolves, but fought valiantly to gain a draw against Arsenal. Their two draws, as anticipated, came against Manchester City and Tottenham.

Leicester (11/10)

Brendan Rodgers has been able to spin his magic once again with Leicester, just as he did with Liverpool and Celtic. There’s a young crop of fresh faces making their way up through the ranks of the squad with the Foxes, and that blends in perfectly with the old guard that continues to serve as the backbone of this football club. They may not win the league as they did a few years ago, but it’s not like a place in the top four is completely outside the realms of possibility.

Leicester lost a heartbreaker to Liverpool in early October, but aside from that, they’ve been in a rich vein of form. They absolutely battered Southampton 9-0, edged past Burnley, and tore through Newcastle United. In the Carabao Cup they’ve been equally as ruthless, seeing off Luton 4-0 and Brighton 3-1.

Conclusion

This game is going to be wide open and that, in itself, should ensure a really interesting showdown in London. The tempo is going to be high, and the result is going to come down to who blinks first. As it turns out we think they’re going to wind up canceling each other out, leading to them sharing the points. While it may not be the sort of result either team is looking for, when they look back on it in the weeks and months to come, it should be viewed as a great point gained.

Leicester can’t stop scoring and Palace have a few tricks up their sleeves themselves. As such, it seems almost obvious at this point to predict they’ll hit over 2.5 goals, which should make for a fun afternoon of action.

Verdict: Back the draw at odds of 12/5 and the over 2.5 goals scored at odds of 1/1. (All odds are taken from bet365).
