Prediction and odds for the game: Valencia (14/5) v Real Madrid (10/11)

Back the away win

When: Sunday 15th December 2019, Kick-off 8 PM

Where: Estadio de Mestalla

On Sunday night, Valencia host Real Madrid at the Mestalla, in a game that could be crucial for the visitors in their pursuit of the Spanish top-flight crown.

Valencia

It has truly been a rollercoaster of a season for the home side. Albert Celades side looks to be on the road to recovery after three straight wins in all competitions. A 1-0 midweek win at Ajax in the Champions League saw Los Ches book their place in the knockout stages of the competition.

In the Spanish top-flight, the home side has recorded an impressive four victories in their last five outings. A 4-2 win at Levante last time out in the local derby means that Celades’ team have found the net at least twice in four of their last five league matches. It also means that both teams have scored in eight of Valencia’s last nine matches in La Liga.

Valencia have been difficult to defeat on at the Mestalla in recent La Liga games, as Los Ches have now lost just once in 21 league matches on home soil.

Real Madrid

The team from the Spanish capital have enjoyed a strong La Liga campaign so far. Los Blancos are currently second place in the table, only trailing leaders Barcelona by virtue of goal difference.

A 3-1 midweek win at Club Brugge in the Champions League makes the visitors unbeaten in ten matches in all competitions, having recorded eight victories in the process.

The visitor’s recent record in La Liga is even more impressive of late, as they have won their last four consecutive outings in the Spanish top-flight. Los Blancos have also been impressive in front of goal in La Liga, scoring at least twice in their last four league outings.

Former France international forward Karim Benzema has been in good form of late, scoring four goals in as many La Liga appearances, while scoring 11 times in 13 league appearances this season.

The visitors away form in La Liga has been a mixed bag, as they have won just four of their last seven away games in the Spanish top-flight. Zidane’s team have won their last two league outings on the road though against Eibar and Alaves.

Conclusion

This could be an intriguing clash. Valencia are not an easy team to defeat at the Mestalla, but Real Madrid are in top form and are likely to head to Valencia in majorly confident mood.

That is why we are backing the away win. This season they seem to be stronger than they have been for a long time in the Spanish top-flight.

The other bet we are recommending is to back for Karim Benzema to be an anytime goalscorer, with the Frenchman odds of 4/5.

Verdict: Back the away win at odds of 10/11 and/or Karim Benzema to score at anytime at odds of 4/5. (All odds are taken from Bet365).
