Prediction and odds for the game: Wolves (6/4) v Leicester (9/4)

We are backing the draw at odds of 9/4

When: Friday 14th February 2020, Kick-off 8 PM

Where: Molineux Stadium

On Friday night, Wolves host Leicester at Molineux in a game that could prove crucial to the home sides hopes of clinching a top-four spot this season in the Premier League.

Wolves

A recent poor run of form in the Premier League has seen the home side slip to ninth in the top-flight table. Wolves have won just once in their last six league games, including draw 0-0 at rivals for a top-six spot Manchester United last time out.

The draw at Old Trafford ended a run of nine league games without a clean sheet in the Premier League for the team from the Midlands.

Wolves’ recent home record in the top-flight is not exactly convincing either, as Nuno Espirito Santo’s team has won just four of their last 13 league matches on home soil. In fact, they have won just once in their last four Premier League matches at Molineux.

The home sides recent Premier League matches have been relatively high scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in three of their last four matches. Both teams have also scored in seven of their last eight league matches on home soil.

Leicester

The Foxes form has dipped of late after a superb start to their Premier League campaign. However, Brendan Rodgers team are still third in the league and ten points clear of the teams outside of the Champions League spots.

Leicester know that they should now go on to claim a top-four spot but cannot afford too many slip-ups along the way. A recent record of just one in their last four league outings is not great and the visitors will need to improve upon that to stay in the top-four this season.

The Foxes recent Premier League games have been highly entertaining, as their last eight league matches have produced over 2.5 goals. Both teams have also scored in eight of their last ten top-flight matches.

Leicester have a strong recent away record in the English top-flight, winning seven of their last nine matches on their travels. However, the Foxes suffered a 2-1 defeat at Burnley in their last away game.

Like their recent league games in general, the visitors away games have been high scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in their last five matches on their travels. A reason for those high scoring games is that the Foxes have scored at least twice in six of their last eight away matches in the top-flight.

Conclusion

Both teams head into this clash in unconvincing form of late in the Premier League. The recent meetings between these two teams have been relatively even, which is one of the reasons we are backing the draw. We are also backing the over 2.5 goals scored, as both teams have been generous in defence of late and have forwards that can hurt the other team.

Verdict: We are backing the draw at odds of 9/4 and/or the under 2.5 goals scored at odds of 4/5. (All odds are taken from Bet365).
