Sivasspor v Denizlispor Preview, prediction and odds

Prediction and odds for the game: Sivasspor (8/15) v Denizlispor (19/4)

We are backing under 2.5 goals scored at odds of 17/20

When: Saturday 21st March 2020, Kick-off 2 PM

Where: The Yeni Sivas 4 Eylul Stadyumu

On Saturday afternoon, Sivasspor host Denizlispor, in what could prove to be a vital game for the home side in the race for the Turkish Super Lig title.

The home side suffered a major blow in the pursuit of the Turkish title last time out, as they lost 1-0 at Antalyaspor. The defeat leaves Riza Calimbay’s side four points adrift of leaders Trabzonspor.

The defeat last time out in the Turkish top-flight means that Sivasspor have now won just two of their last eight league outings. It is certainly not the form of a title-winning side.

One player who has maintained decent form for the home side is Mali international Mustapha Yatabare, who has scored 11 times in his 25 league appearances.

Sivasspor have a strong recent home record in the Turkish top-flight, as they are unbeaten in 15 home games. However, three of their last four home games in the league have produced draws. Their recent home matches in the league with under 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five games.

A big positive for Sivasspor is that they have won four of their last six meetings with the visitors in all competitions, suffering just one defeat

The visitors are tenth place in the table, but may well be looking over their shoulders slightly at the relegation zone, as they are six points clear of the drop zone. They will feel that they cannot afford any complacency heading towards the end of the campaign.

A 1-0 win over Genclerbirligi last time out means that the visitors are three games unbeaten in the Super Lig, having recorded two wins in the process. However, they have also won just twice in 11 matches in the Turkish top-flight.

Denizlispor’s recent Super Lig matches have relatively low-scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in six of their last seven outings in the Turkish top-flight.

Bulent Uygun’s team have struggled for points on their travels in the Super Lig, as they have failed to win in any of their last five away games in the Turkish top-flight, picking up just three points in the process.

Some poor defensive displays have been at the heart of the visitor’s poor away results, as they have conceded at least twice in four of their last five league matches on their travels.

Sivasspor will be desperate to get back to winning ways after defeat last time out and we are backing the home team to record a victory. However, we believe this game will be relatively low-scoring, which is why we are also backing the under 2.5 goals scored too.

Verdict: We are backing the home win at odds of 8/15 and/or the under 2.5 goals scored at odds of 17/20. (All odds are taken from Bet365).
