|

Prediction and odds for the game: BATE Borisov (3/10) v Ruh Brest (15/2)

We are backing the over 2.5 goals at odds of 4/5

When: Saturday 04th April 2020, Kick-off 3:30 PM

Where: The Borisov Arena

On Saturday afternoon, giants of the Belarussian game BATE Borisov host Ruh Brest at the Borisov Arena in gameweek three of the Premier League.

BATE Borisov

The home side has made a terrible start to their Premier League campaign, suffering two straight defeats against Energetyk-BGU and Slavia. The defeats were real blows to BATE’s attempts at reclaiming the Premier League crown.

Last season ended a 13-year dominance of the Belarus Premier League by BATE, as Dinamo Brest won the title. The home side would have been determined to bounce straight back this season. However, things have certainly not gone their way early in 2020 so far.

BATE finished last season in relatively good form, which made the two straight defeats even more surprising. The fact that they conceded at least two goals in each loss did not help their cause. At least nobody can say that BATE’s games have not been entertaining of late, as their last six Premier League matches have produced over 2.5 goals.

The former champions have been strong on home soil of late in the Premier League, winning 11 of their last 13 league outings at the Borisov Arena. BATE have also been tough to keep out at home, as they have failed to score just once in 21 league games on home soil.

Ruh Brest

The visitors have made a mixed start to life the Belarus Premier League, as they have won once and lost once in their debut top-flight campaign. Ruh Brest opened the league campaign with a highly creditable 1-0 win at Dinamo Minsk before suffering a 1-0 reverse against Energetyk-BGU.

It was not the worse start the visitors could make to the league season. As new boys, they may expect to be in the relegation dogfight this season. An early win on the board has at least gave them something to cheer about so far.

The fact that they finish last season on an unbeaten run of ten games will also have sent the visitors into this campaign in confident mood. As will the fact that they went the whole of last season unbeaten on their travels in the second tier.

However, the Belarus top-flight will certainly be a step up from the second tier. A trip to BATE is the sort of game they would have been looking forward to when seeking promotion.

Conclusion

BATE will be determined to get back to winning ways after their nightmare start to the Premier League campaign. Now back on home soil we are backing the home team to triumph. The other bet we are backing is the over 2.5 goals scored, simply as BATE always seem to score on home soil and the visitors have been involved in just one 0-0 draw in 15 away games in the top-two flights.

Verdict: We are backing the over 2.5 goals scored at odds of 4/4 and/or the home win at odds of 3/10. (All odds are taken from Bet365).
