Prediction and odds for the game: RB Leipzig (19/10) v PSG (6/5)
We are backing Moise Kean to be an anytime goalscorer at odds of 11/8
When: Wednesday, 4th November 2020, Kick-off 20:00
Where: The Red Bull Arena
On Wednesday night, RB Leipzig host PSG at the Red Bull Arena in Group H of the Champions League, in a possibly vital game. These two teams met in the Champions League semi-final last season with the French team coming out on top 1-0.
RB Leipzig
Julian Nagelsmann’s team had been experiencing a stellar campaign until recent games. However, Die Roten Bullen have now suffered two straight defeats after a 1-0 defeat at Monchengladbach. The defeat against the Foals followed a 5-0 defeat hammering at Manchester United in Group H.
Despite the defeat on gameweek two at Old Trafford, the German team could still turn things around with a victory over the visitors from the French capital. Leipzig have a decent recent record in the Champions League, recording victories in four of their last six games in the competition. The home side has also been relatively prolific in the competition, scoring at least two goals in seven of their last ten matches.
Leipzig have been tough to beat on home soil of late in the Champions League, losing just one of their previous six home games in the competition, while recording a very respectable four wins. They have also scored at least two goals in five of those games on that run.
PSG
The visitors are back on top in Ligue One, having hit a good recent run of form in the French top-flight. A 3-0 win at Nantes last time out means that Thomas Tuchel’s team have recorded three straight wins in all competitions, having scored at least two goals in each game, while also keeping clean sheets.
However, like Leipzig, PSG have also suffered at the hands of Manchester United in the Champions League. The Parisians suffered a 2-1 home win against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team. Since the defeat PSG have recorded a 2-0 win at Istanbul Basaksehir to keep them in contention for qualification from the group.
PSG have an inconsistent recent record in the Champions League, despite reaching the final last season. Tuchel’s team have won four and lost three of their previous seven games in the competition. They have also been prolific of late, scoring at least two goals in seven of their last nine Champions League games.
Conclusion
This is a tough one to call. The bets we are looking at are in the goal markets. The first one we are backing is over 3.5 goals, as both teams are prolific and not always great in defence. The other recommendation is Moise Kean to be an anytime goalscorer. The Italian youngster on-loan from Everton has scored four times in his first three appearances for the Parisians. PSG are expected to be without Neymar, so Kean will likely be the main attacking foil for Kylian Mbappe.
Verdict: We are backing over 3.5 goals at odds of 11/10 and/or Moise Kean to be an anytime goalscorer at odds of 11/8. (All odds are taken from Bet365).
