Prediction & odds for the game: Leicester (1/1) v Brighton (14/5) – ST is backing the home win

When: Sunday, 13th December @ 7.15pm K.O

Where: King Power Stadium

Leicester City will attempt to keep their top four hopes alive and well as they prepare to host Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday night.

Leicester

The inconsistency of Leicester City continues to baffle the masses because while they do possess the quality necessary to make a surge for the top four, they seem to drop points in games that should be right there for the taking. A few years ago when they won the Premier League many fans were wondering whether or not they’d become mainstays towards the top of the division, and now, it appears as if Brendan Rodgers is guiding them closer and closer to that goal.

The comprehensive defeat against Liverpool wasn’t great, but the narrow losses to Fulham and FC Zorya felt far more damaging. Alas, they did manage to play out an entertaining 3-3 draw against Braga, and they’ve rediscovered their winning touch in the last week with wins over Sheffield United and AEK Athens.

Brighton

Brighton & Hove Albion are desperate for some luck to break their way, but right now, it looks increasingly likely that they’ll be lingering around the relegation zone all season long. That doesn’t mean they’re going to be one of the favourites for the drop, far from it, but their inability to see a game through is really going to harm them. As we look ahead to 2021, that’s an issue that they desperately need to resolve.

A 1-1 draw against West Bromwich Albion was viewed as slightly disappointing for Potter’s side, as was the draw against Burnley and the defeat to Tottenham. They definitely stepped it up a gear against Aston Villa, though, beating Dean Smith’s men 2-1 before registering a shock draw against Liverpool. They would’ve felt slightly hard done by in the loss to Southampton on Monday night, but there were definitely positives to take away from it.

Conclusion

While both teams have real quality within their ranks, the big difference in this game is going to be confidence. Leicester have won their last two whereas Brighton only have one win in their last six, with the Seagulls clearly struggling when it comes to having that killer instinct mentality. It’s going to be an entertaining game based on what we’ve seen from them so far this season, but the Foxes are going to be the ones walking away with all three points.

Our official scoreline prediction is 2-0, meaning that we will be backing the under 2.5 goals market.

Verdict: Back the home at odds of 1/1 and the under 2.5 goals scored at odds of 10/11 (All odds are taken from bet365).
