Prediction & odds for the game: Wolves (5/2) v Arsenal (23/20) – ST is backing the away win
When: Tuesday, 2nd February @ 6pm K.O
Where: Molineux
Arsenal will attempt to compound the misery of Wolverhampton Wanderers when the two giants of English football meet at Molineux on Tuesday night.
Wolves
Wolverhampton Wanderers are in a relegation battle and any fans who want to suggest differently need to re-evaluate what’s happening at the club. Nuno Espirito Santo has quite clearly been their saviour over the course of the last few years and supporters will always be grateful to him for that, but as the weeks go on and the poor results continue to roll in, it’s looking more and more likely that he could wind up losing his job.
Wolves are in the fifth round of the FA Cup thanks to wins over Crystal Palace and Chorley, but that’s really the only piece of good news they’ve had in 2021. They’ve suffered defeats to Everton, Palace in the Premier League and bitter rivals West Brom, while also just about hanging on for a point against Chelsea.
Arsenal
Arsenal fans still aren’t quite sure what to expect from their side this season and, when you consider the start to the campaign that they’ve had thus far, we shouldn’t be surprised. The Gunners are able to switch on their fluent attacking style in one game and then in the next, they just crumble. if that pattern continues then they may not quite be able to challenge for the top four but at the very least, they should still be shooting for the top six.
A 1-0 loss to Southampton knocked the Gunners out of the Fa Cup after they’d already beaten Newcastle in the third round, with draws against Crystal Palace and Manchester United serving as big missed opportunities in the Premier League. Thankfully for them, though, they have managed a few impressive wins over Newcastle and Southampton in the league since we kicked off the new year.
Conclusion
Arsenal truly do not need to be at their best in order to beat Wolves next week, and that’s why we think they’ll be able to get the job done with relative ease. The hosts just seem incapable of playing with the sort of urgency or style that we’re so used to seeing from them, and regardless of whether or not that’s due to the lack of fans or the man in charge, they won’t able to fix it in time to prevent yet another defeat on their own turf.
Our official scoreline prediction is going to be 2-0 Arsenal, meaning we’ll be sticking with the under 2.5 goals market.
Verdict: Back the away win at odds of 23/20 and the under 2.5 goals scored at odds of 4/6 (All odds are taken from bet365).
