Prediction and odds for the game: Arsenal (8/11) vs Fulham (4/1)

We are backing Alexandre Lacazette to be an anytime goalscorer at odds of 11/10

When: Sunday, 18th April 2021, Kick-off 13:30

Where: The Emirates Stadium

On Sunday afternoon, Arsenal host Fulham at the Emirates Stadium, in a clash that could be pivotal in both teams hopes of achieving their remaining goals this season.

Arsenal

The Gunners have experienced an inconsistent top-flight campaign so far and currently sit ninth-place in the table. Mikel Arteta’s team will believe that they still have an outside chance of grabbing a top-six finish this season. However, the Gunners are seven points behind sixth-place Liverpool, so those hopes may be slim.

The team from north London head into the clash in good spirits after beating Sheffield United 3-0 in the Premier League and last time out Slavia Prague 4-0 in the Europa League. However, the fact that the Gunners have won just two of their last five matches in the Premier League illustrates their inconsistency.

That inconsistency includes their recent home games, as Arsenal have won just two of their last five league matches at the Emirates Stadium. That run is slightly understandable considering they have faced Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool in that run.

Fulham

The Cottagers hopes of survival get slimmer by the week. Scott Parker’s team are currently 18th place in the Premier League table, six points from the safety of 17th place Newcastle. A decent run of form in February provided the visitor’s false hope, as they go into this game on the back of four straight Premier League defeats. Last time out, Scott Parker’s team suffered a 1-0 home defeat against Wolves.

The game saw Fulham fail to score once more. The blank is hardly surprising, as only rock-bottom Sheffield United have scored fewer goals than the Cottagers in the Premier League this season.

The fact that they have conceded at least two goals in three of their last four league outings has not helped their chances of picking up a result either.

The Cottagers have been hard to beat on their travels in the English top-flight of late, as they have lost just once in their last nine away games. A 3-1 defeat in their last away game in the Premier League ended an eight-game unbeaten away run for Parker’s team. The problem for the visitors is that they have also won just two of their previous nine away matches in the top-flight.

Conclusion

Arsenal have been the epitome of inconsistency this season in the Premier League. However, we are backing the Gunners to come out on top in this clash, Fulham’s confidence may have been dented by those recent defeats. The other bet that we recommend is Alexandre Lacazette to be an anytime goalscorer, as the French forward has been in good form of late.

Verdict: We are backing the home win at odds of 8/11 and/or Alexandre Lacazette to be an anytime goalscorer at odds of 11/10. (All odds are taken from Bet365)
