Prediction and odds for the game: Leeds United (3/1) vs Manchester United (3/4)

We are backing the away win

When: Sunday, 25th April 2021, Kick-off 14:00

Where: Elland Road

On Sunday afternoon, Leeds United and Manchester United at Elland Road, as the visitors look to consolidate their place in the Premier League table.

Leeds

Marcelo Bielsa’s team are five games unbeaten in the Premier League, games which included encounters with Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool. The run has seen the team from Yorkshire climb up to 10th place in the table. A top-half finish in their first season back in the top-flight after promotion would be a decent result for the home team.

Leeds have been relatively prolific of late in the Premier League, as they have scored two or more goals in three of their last four league outings. On the flip side, though, the Whites have failed to keep a clean sheet in their previous four games in the Premier League.

The Whites have endured mixed fortunes of late on home soil in the English top-flight of late, as they are unbeaten in three league matches at Elland Road. However, they have also won just once in their previous four league matches at home.

Bielsa’s team suffered a 6-2 trouncing in the reverse fixture. On current form, this encounter should be a much closer affair.

Manchester United

The Red Devils head into this clash against their old rivals on a run of five straight wins in all competitions. Last time out Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team recorded a 3-1 win over Burnley at Old Trafford. United are also unbeaten in their last 12 Premier League matches, having recorded five consecutive league wins.

The recent good run of form has all but sealed the visitor’s place in the Champions League for next season. They are now 11 points clear of fifth-place West Ham. However, catching current league leaders and arch-rivals Manchester City looks highly unlikely, as they trail Pep Guardiola’s team by 11 points, although United does have a game in hand on the Citizens.

The visitors have been difficult to beat on their travels in the Premier League in recent seasons, as the Red Devils are unbeaten in 21 away games in the English top-flight dating back to February of 2020. Their last two away games have seen United record wins at Manchester City and Tottenham. The victories came on the back of four straight draws on their travels in the Premier League.

Conclusion

Both teams head into this clash in decent form. However, we believe that Manchester United will have just enough quality to record a narrow victory in this clash. The other bet we recommend is over 2.5 goals scored, as this should be a goal that produces goals.

Verdict: We are backing the away win at odds of 3/4 and/or under 2.5 goals scored at odds of 4/7. (All odds are taken from Bet365)
