Prediction and odds for the game: Leicester (3/10) vs Spartak Moscow (8/1)

We are backing Patson Daka to be an anytime goalscorer at odds of 11/10

When: Thursday 4 November 2021, Kick-off 20:00

Where: The King Power Stadium

On Thursday night, Leicester City host Russian team Spartak Moscow at the King Power Stadium in Group C of the Europa League.

Leicester

Brendan Rodger’s team have experienced mixed fortunes this season. However, things seem to be looking up of late for the Foxes until a 2-0 home defeat by Arsenal at the weekend. The loss ended a five-game unbeaten run for the team from the Midlands.

Without the likes of Wesley Fofana and James Justin, Leicester have struggled defensively this season. In fact, the team from the Midlands have now conceded at least two goals in their last six outings in all competitions. On the flip-side, they have also been potent in front of goal of late, scoring at least twice in five of their previous six competitive matches.

Leicester’s Europa League campaign so far this season has been a mixed bag, as they have taken four points from their opening three matches in the competition. They are currently in third place in the group, two points behind leaders Legia Warsaw.

A 4-3 win in the reverse fixture ended a four-match winless run in the Europa League for the home team. They will look to revive their campaign with a victory in this clash.

Spartak Moscow

Similarly, to the home team, Spartak Moscow are midtable in their domestic league, having made an unconvincing start all around to their campaign. The Russian team are currently bottom of the group but are just three points behind the leaders Legia. A win in this clash would certainly revive their Europa League campaign.

Spartak heads into this game on a run of four games without a victory. That run included a 7-1 hammering at champions Zenit. The team from the Russian capital have also won just three of their previous nine matches in all competitions. It is not exactly the sort of form that bodes well for success in the near future.

The visitors have already suffered elimination from the Champions League this season. They must improve on their record in the Europa League to have a chance qualifying, as Spartak have now lost four of their last five matches in the competition. They have also conceded at least two goals in three of their previous four games in the Europa League.

Conclusion

Both teams have endured poor recent fortunes in the Europa League. Leicester are likely to field a rotated starting line-up. We believe that the home team has enough quality to see off the visitors. However, the home win offers little value.

Instead, we are going to back the goals market. The first we recommend is Patson Daka to be an anytime goalscorer at odds of 11/10. The forward scored four times in the reverse fixture and we think he can do it again. The bet we recommend is for both teams to score at evens, as both teams have been poor in defence of late and have dangerous players in attack.

Our Tips: We are backing Patson Daka to be an anytime goalscorer at odds of 11/10 and/or both teams to score at evens. (All odds are taken from Bet365).
