Prediction and odds for the game: West Ham (4/1) vs Chelsea (8/11)

We are backing the away win at odds of 8/11

When: Saturday 4 December 2021, Kick-off 12:30

Where: The London Stadium

In Saturday’s early kick-off in the Premier League, West Ham and Chelsea meet in what could be a big London derby when it comes to both teams’ ambitions for the season.

West Ham

After a good start to the season, the Hammers Premier League form has slipped of late. A 1-1 home draw with Brighton in their last top-flight outing means that David Moyes team has now failed to win in their previous three league matches while suffering two defeats and picking up just one draw.

Despite the recent poor run of league form, the Irons are still fourth-place in the table, occupying the last Champions League spot for next season. However, Arsenal could leapfrog the home side if they win their match at Manchester United on Thursday night.

West Ham are unbeaten in three Premier League games on home soil, having picked up seven points in the process. However, they have given their visitors a chance in front of goal, as the Hammers have conceded at least two goals in four of their last six home matches in the Premier League.

Chelsea

The Blues remain top of the Premier League table after a 2-1 win at Watford. However, Thomas Tuchel’s team are still just a point above second-place Manchester City and two ahead of third-place Liverpool in the race for the coveted English title.

Chelsea were not at their best at Vicarage Road last time out, but they ground out the result to go eight matches unbeaten in the top-flight, six of which they have won.

Despite conceding in three of their last four league outings, the Blues still have the defensive record in the Premier League, with just six goals conceded in 13 matches.

Chelsea have been impressive travellers of late, as Tuchel’s team are unbeaten in seven away matches in the English top-flight, having recorded five straight wins on their travels. Emmanuel Dennis’ goal for Watford ended a run of four straight away clean sheets for the Blues away from home in the Premier League.

Chelsea won both meetings with West Ham last season. However, in the previous campaign, the Hammers claimed victories in both games.

Conclusion

West Ham are experiencing a slight wobble of late in form, while Chelsea have not been at their best of late in the Premier League, anyway. We still believe that Tuchel’s team will have too much quality for the home side and make it four games without a league win for the Hammers. The other we recommend is Mason Mount to be an anytime goalscorer. The England midfielder looked sharp against Watford getting on the scoresheet and his goals tend to come along like buses.

Our Tips: We are backing the away win at odds of 8/11 and/or Mason Mount to be an anytime goalscorer at odds of 16/5. (All odds are taken from Bet365).
