Manchester United

The Red Devils are eight games undefeated in all competitions and will look to continue that run on Monday against an inconsistent Wolves team. Last time out, Ralf Rangnick’s team defeated Burnley 3-1 at Old Trafford. The victory means that United have won four of their last five matches in the English top-flight.  The home sides recent decent form has put them four points behind fourth-place Tottenham, who have played two extra games.

The victory over Burnley produced an unusually high-scoring encounter for Rangnick’s team in recent weeks, as their previous three league games had all produced under 2.5 goals.

The win also saw the Red Devils record their third straight home win in the English Premier League. However, a record of three home wins in seven home outings in the league is not great.

United have a good recent record against Wolves. The Red Devils are unbeaten in seven meetings with the men from the Midlands, having also won four of their last five games against the visitors.

The visitors recent league form has been highly inconsistent. A 0-0 home draw against Chelsea last time out means that Bruno Lage’s team has claimed just one win in their last six Premier League outings. Those recent league encounters have been incredibly low-scoring affairs, with under 2.5 goals scored in Wolves last eight outings in the English top-flight.

The lack of goals in recent league matches may come as little surprise, as only Norwich have scored fewer goals in the Premier League this season. However, at the other end of the pitch, only reigning champions and league leaders Manchester City have conceded fewer goals than Lage’s team.

Their recent run of underwhelming form has left Wolves eighth-place in the table, six points behind their seventh-place opponents United.

Wolves have not been great travellers of late in the Premier League, as they have won just one of their last five away games in the English top-flight. However, that one victory was in their last away match, a 1-0 victory at Brighton.

The most recent games between these two teams have generally been tight and low-scoring. In fact, six of the last seven meetings have produced under 2.5 goals. That record is likely to continue in this clash considering that Wolves tend to be involved in low-scoring clashes.

We also believe that United will record a victory. As with most United home games, the home win offers little value. Instead, we are backing draw/Manchester United.

Our Tips: We are backing draw/Manchester United at odds of 3/1 and/or under 2.5 goals scored at odds of 4/5. (All odds are taken from Bet365)
