Prediction and odds for the game: Leeds (29/10) vs Manchester United (17/20)

We are backing Bruno Fernandes to be an anytime goalscorer at odds of 9/5

When: Sunday 20 February 2022, Kick-off 14:00

Where: Elland Road

On Sunday afternoon, old rivals Leeds United and Manchester United clash at Elland Road, as the visitors look to boost their Premier League top-four hopes.

Leeds United

The Whites recent form has seen them drop down the league table to 15th place, six points clear of the relegation zone. Their recent form has been poor with just two wins in their last ten matches in all competitions. A 3-0 hammering at Everton last time out in the Premier League means that Marcelo Bielsa team are on a three-game winless in the English top-flight. The team from Yorkshire have also recorded just two wins in their last nine outings in the Premier League.

Home has not brought many comforts for Leeds of late, as the Whites have won just one of their last four home matches in the Premier League. One factor in Leeds recent poor home run is a lack of clean sheets, as they have kept just one clean sheet in their last seven league games at Elland Road.

Another contributing factor for Leeds poor general form has been the absence through injury of the influential Kalvin Phillips and Patrick Bamford. Both players remain on the sidelines for this clash.

Manchester United

The Red Devils are right in the thick of the race for the Champions League spots. Ralf Rangnick’s are fourth-place, but they are just two points clear of fifth-place West Ham and four points clear of Arsenal, who have three games in hand.

A six-game unbeaten run in the Premier League has moved the visitors into their current position in the English top-flight. However, three of those six undefeated league games have finished in draws. A 2-0 home win over Brighton came on the back of two straight draws against Burnley and Southampton.

The Red Devils recent Premier League games have been low-scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in their last four matches. Despite those low-scoring games of late, United have kept just two clean sheets in their last nine matches in the English top-flight.

United are undefeated in their last six away games in the Premier League. However, four of those six undefeated games have finished all square.

The visitors have doubts over the fitness of Edinson Cavani, Raphael Varane, Eric Bailly and Nemanja Matic.

Conclusion

Leeds will be nervously looking over their shoulders at the relegation zone. They have a poor recent record against the visitors, winning just one of the last ten meetings with their old rivals. However, the Red Devils have been underwhelming on their travels of late.

Instead of the win market, we are going to look at the scoring market instead for our tips. The first bet we are backing is over 2.5 goals scored. Neither team has been great defensively of late, which should give attacking players chances to find the net. The other bet we are backing is Bruno Fernandes to be an anytime goalscorer. The Portuguese international looks decent value at odds of 9/5.

Our Tips: We are backing over 2.5 goals scored at odds of 8/13 and/or Bruno Fernandes to be an anytime goalscorer at odds of 9/5. (All odds are taken from Bet365).
