Prediction and odds for the game: Tottenham (1/3) vs Burnley (8/1)

We are backing Tottenham half-time/full-time at evens

When: Sunday 15 May 2022, Kick-off 12:00

Where: The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

On Sunday afternoon, Tottenham and Burnley go head-to-head at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, in a game that could be crucial in the race for the top-four and fight for survival in the Premier League.

Tottenham

Antonio Conte’s team recorded a potentially vital 3-0 north London derby win over Arsenal on Thursday night, which moved them to within a point of their fourth-place rivals. If Spurs take anything from this game, they will move into the coveted Champions League spots in the league table.

Tottenham heads into this game on the back of a four-game unbeaten run in the Premier League. In fact, Conte’s team has won six of their last nine matches in the English top flight.

A big factor in Spurs’ recent decent league form is their potent attack, as Tottenham has scored at least two goals in six of their previous nine league games.

South Korean forward Son Heung-Min has certainly found his shooting boots of late, as he has scored four times in his last three Premier League appearances. Son is just a goal behind Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah in the English top-flight’s golden boot race.

Burnley

Despite an upturn in fortunes under interim head coach Mike Jackson since his appointment, Burnley are still only above the Premier League’s relegation zone courtesy of a superior goal difference to 18th place Leeds. However, the Clarets have a game in hand on the team from Yorkshire.

A 3-1 home defeat by Aston Villa last out ended a three-game winning run in the English top-flight. The Clarets were also unbeaten in four top-flight matches before the loss against Steven Gerrard’s team.

This season, Burnley have been poor travellers, as they have won just one of their last five away matches in the Premier League. A 2-1 win at Watford in their last away game in the English top-flight ended a four-game winless run on their travels.

The Clarets recent away matches in the Premier League have been low-scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in five of their last seven matches on their travels. The fact that the visitors have scored just four goals in their last five away matches in the English top-flight is a big reason for the lack of goals in Burnley’s recent league matches on their travels.

Conclusion

Tottenham looked highly motivated against Arsenal and we believe that they will record a victory. The home win offers little value. Instead, we are backing our old favourite of half-time/full-time Tottenham. We are also taking a punt on under 2.5 goals scored, as Burnley are likely to sit deep and the Clarets are not exactly prolific on their travels.

Our Tips: We are backing Tottenham half-time/full-time at evens and/or under 2.5 goals scored at odds of 13/10. (All odds are taken from Bet365).
