Prediction and odds for the game: Tottenham (1/3) vs Wolves (17/2)

We are backing Heung Min-Son to be an anytime goalscorer at odds of 11/8

When: Saturday, 20 August 2022, Kick-off 12:30

Where: The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

In Saturday’s early kick-off in the Premier League, Tottenham hosts Wolves at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as the home team looks to continue their solid start to the new league campaign.

Tottenham

Antonio Conte’s team have picked up four points from their opening two Premier League matches of the season. Spurs opened their campaign with a 4-1 home win over Southampton before a 2-2 draw at capital rivals Chelsea last time out. They needed an equaliser deep into stoppage-time from Harry Kane to claim a point.

The fact that the north London team claimed a point from a game where they were not at their best is a positive, however. The draw means that Conte’s team are unbeaten in eight Premier League matches dating back to April. However, it ended a four-game winning run for Spurs in the English top-flight.

Tottenham have been strong on home soil of late in the English top-flight, winning seven of their last eight league outings at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Conte’s team has also scored at least two goals in 12 of their last 15 home games in the Premier League.

Wolves

The visitors are yet to pick up a Premier League victory this season. Bruno Lage’s team kicked off the new league campaign with a 2-1 defeat at Leeds before a goalless draw at home to Fulham last time out.

The underwhelming start to the new Premier League campaign is just a continuation of last season’s end-of-season poor form. In fact, the team from the Midlands head into this game, having failed to win in nine top-flight matches, including suffering six defeats.

The biggest factor in their recent poor Premier League form has been poor defensive displays, as the visitors have conceded at least two goals in five of their last seven league matches.

Wolves recent away record in the top-flight has been poor, too, as the visitors have won one of their last eight league games on their travels. That run includes suffering six defeats in that woeful eight-game run away from home. The fact that Wolves have conceded at least two goals in their last three matches on their travels has made a big contribution to their recent poor away record.

Conclusion

Spurs tend to be strong on home soil, while Wolves are poor travellers. The home win offers little value. Therefore, we are backing Tottenham half-time/full-time instead as our first tip, as we can see Tottenham winning this game relatively easily.

The second bet we are backing is Heung-Min Son to be an anytime goalscorer. The South Korean has not yet hit his stride this season, but we fancy the 30-year-old to open his Premier League account in this clash.

Our Tips: We are backing Tottenham half-time/full-time at odds of 11/10 and/or Heung-Min Son to be an anytime goalscorer at odds of 11/8. (All odds are taken from Bet365).
