Prediction and odds for the game: Bournemouth (7/1) vs Arsenal (2/5)

We are backing Arsenal half-time/full-time at odds of 11/10

When: Saturday, 20 August 2022, Kick-off 17:30

Where: The Vitality Stadium

In the Premier League’s late kick-off on Saturday, newly promoted Bournemouth hosts in-form Arsenal at the Vitality Stadium as the visitors look to continue their winning start to the new league campaign.

Bournemouth

The Cherries returned to the Premier League on the opening weekend of the campaign with a 2-0 home win over Aston Villa. However, they got brought back down to earth with a bang last time out, as Scott Parker’s team suffered a 4-0 defeat at the hands of reigning champions Manchester City.

Despite suffering relegation in their last spell in the English top-flight, Bournemouth has a mixed recent record in the league, having recorded three wins in their previous six league matches.

The Cherries also have a mixed recent home record in the Premier League. However, the team from the south coast have won just two of their previous seven matches. Their most recent home games in the English top-flight have been low-scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in three of their last four home outings in the Premier League.

Arsenal

The Gunners have made an impressive start to the new Premier League campaign, winning both their top-flight games this season. The team from north London opened the season with a 2-0 win at capital rivals Crystal Palace. Last time out, Mikel Arteta’s team recorded a 4-2 home win over Leicester.

The win over the Foxes means that Arsenal has won three straight league victories. In fact, Arsenal has recorded seven wins in their last nine matches in the English top-flight. The Gunners have been highly potent in the league of late, scoring at least two goals in seven of their last nine games in the Premier League.

Their attacking prowess has contributed to their being over 2.5 goals scored in seven of their last nine matches in the Premier League.

Arsenal’s recent away form in the league has been highly inconsistent. The Gunners have won three and lost four of their last seven games in the English top-flight.

Arteta’s team has kept just one clean sheet in their previous seven away games in the Premier League. On their travels, they have also scored at least two goals in three of their last five league games.

Conclusion

Bournemouth can be forgiven for the defeat at City last time out, as most teams will fall at the hands of the Citizens. This game could be a good one to gauge the Cherries capabilities this season. However, Arsenal will be tough opponents, and we back the Gunners half-time/full-time. We are also backing both teams to score, as Arsenal haven’t looked that secure in defence, while the Gunners pose a very evident attacking threat.

Our Tips: We are backing Arsenal half-time/full-time at odds of 11/10 and/or both teams to score at evens. (All odds are taken from Bet365)
