Arsenal are set to rival Liverpool for the signing of Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount this summer.

According to Goal, Arsenal have now held talks with representatives of England international Mount, 24, who is also a main target for Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp.

The midfielder is set for the exit this summer at Stamford Bridge after rejecting an offer of a new deal and has been linked with other top clubs including Manchester United and Bayern Munich.

It is hoped by Arsenal however that the potential opportunity for Mount to link up with his childhood best friend Declan Rice next season may swing Mount’s decision in the favor of the Gunners, who currently sit top of the Premier League.
