Former Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino will become Chelsea’s new head coach in June.

It was reported yesterday that the Chelsea squad are believed to be excited by the prospect of the Argentinian taking over the club and according to reputable journalist Fabrizio Romano, Pochettino will officially take the reigns of the Blues on 1 June when current interim manager Frank Lampard’s contract comes to an end after successful talks last night.

What’s the Chelsea latest manager news?

Pochettino, who has also managed Espanyol, Southampton, and Paris Saint-Germain, is believed to be keen on returning to the Premier League where his reputation as one of the world’s best managers was built and then slightly diminished in France as he guided the Parisians to a Ligue 1 title but failed to deliver a Champions League.

Ex-Chelsea legend Lampard is expected to retain his job as interim head coach until the end of the season as the Blues prepare for Wednesday’s West-London derby with neighbors Brentford, who currently sit five points above them in the Premier League table.
