Liverpool have emerged as realistic candidates for the signature of Southampton midfield starlet Romeo Lavia this summer.
The 19-year-old was very impressive in his debut Premier League season for the Saints following his move last summer from English champions Manchester City.
Romeo Lavia holds talks with Jurgen Klopp’s Reds
As reported last month by Soccer Times, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was keen on making a move for Lavia alongside future club record-signing Declan Rice- who is expected to complete his move to the Emirates Stadium in the next week.
And the Saints are hoping to receive a record fee for Lavia themselves, with the Belgian international already reporting to the club’s training ground for pre-season training yesterday.
Arsenal and Chelsea remain in talks with Southampton to sign Lavia but as reported by Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have emerged as Lavia’s newest potential destination following a fortnight of discussions with the teenager’s representatives.
Lavia would incredibly become Liverpool’s third new midfielder this summer with Jurgen Klopp’s new engine room really taking shape following the summer signings of Alexis Mac Allister and the attack-minded Dominik Szoboszlai.
