Champions League qualifiers Newcastle United are considering signing a left-back on loan this summer and have highlighted Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney and Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella as two realistic options.

As reported back in June, Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is a fan of the Scottish international and wants to add competition for places at left-back having already signed Tino Livramento from Southampton earlier this month.

Kieran Tierney set for Newcastle switch?

According to The Daily Telegraph’s Luke Edwards, the Magpies have to be very wary of UEFA’s Financial Fair Play Regulations in making any further deals having already spent over $160m on Livramento, Harvey Barnes from Leicester, and standout buy Sandro Tonali from AC Milan.

Whilst the Gunners would prefer to sell Tierney on a permanent deal, they would reluctantly accept a season-long loan with an option to buy next summer. Howe is also considering a loan move for Marc Cucurella from Chelsea who is set to have to play second fiddle this season behind Ben Chilwell under new head coach Mauricio Pochettino.
