Fantasy Football ones to watch season 2018/19 gameweek 18

|

Our gameweek 17 ones to watch produced mix results, with two of our four choices delivering points. However, we are aiming for a full house in gameweek 18’s ones to watch, so here we are this week’s choices:

Lukasz Fabianski (West Ham, £4.7m)

Our old friend Lukasz Fabianski is starting to look like an ideal set and forget choice in the goalkeeping position. The Polish international has kept only three clean sheets but manages to collect points via the number of saves he makes.

Despite not keeping many clean sheets, the former-Arsenal keeper is also a bonus points magnet, picking up 11 bonus points this season, four of which have been in the Hammers last four league outings.

A home game against Watford has the potential for Fabianski to pick up another big haul, even if the Hornets look to be back in form. The Hammers are favourites to win the clash, though.

Jan Bednarek (Southampton, £3.9m)

It is not often that FPL players are gifted a potential asset at the price of £3.9million. However, the arrival of Ralph Hasenhuttl at Southampton seems to have revived the Saints career of Bednarek, who has started their last two league matches.

The 22-year-old Polish star is still learning the game, but if he can nail down a starting spot in that Saints backline, then he could prove to be a fantastic enabler in defence.

The team from the south coast have struggled to keep clean sheets in the Premier League this season. However, a trip to the league’s lowest scorers in Huddersfield offers Bednarek a chance to pick up some points for his small group of owners.

Michail Antonio (West Ham, £6.8m)

Antonio has proven to be a stellar FPL asset in seasons gone by due to aerial ability and potential to pop up with an important goal for the Hammers. However, the midfielder has been in and out of the team this season, as Irons boss Manuel Pellegrini looks for his best starting eleven.

The former Nottingham Forest star looks to be rediscovering his top form, though, as he has now scored in his last two Premier League appearances. Antonio will be looking to add to his tally of two goals two Premier League assists at home against Watford on Saturday afternoon.

The Hammers also have a nice run of fixtures in the next few weeks, as the Irons look to keep climbing the Premier League table. Antonio could prove to be a good differential in a sea of top midfield options.

Danny Ings (Southampton, £5.4m)

Ings could turn out to be the bargain of the season for both FPL owners and Southampton if he can stay injury-free of course. The former Liverpool forward has struggled with injuries throughout his career.

However, if he is on the pitch, then he is always likely to give attacking returns. The 26-year-old scored a brace on his return from injury against Arsenal last Sunday.

The appointment of an exciting, attack-minded head coach like Ralph Hasenhuttl makes Ings potentially a very good budget option. A visit to another struggler Huddersfield means that Ings could add to his tally of six goals and one assist in the top-flight this season.
