In one of the games of the gameweek eight of the Bundesliga, Eintracht Frankfurt host Bayer Leverkusen at the Commerzbank-Arena.

Eintracht Frankfurt (Odds of 2/1 for victory)

The home side has made a mixed start to their Bundesliga campaign, having taken 11 points from their first seven outings in the German top-flight. Frankfurt have won just once in their last four league outings. Last time out in the Bundesliga, Werder Bremen held the home side to a 2-2 draw at the Commerzbank-Arena.

Despite the summer exits of the likes of Ante Rebic, Sebastien Haller and Luka Jovic, Frankfurt have been prolific of late in the German top-flight. In fact, the home side has scored at least twice in four of their last five Bundesliga matches. Their attacking prowess has contributed to their last six league games producing over 2.5 goals.

Frankfurt are currently in the midst of a four-game unbeaten home run in the Bundesliga. However, they have drawn their last two games Dortmund and last time out Werder Bremen. Adi Hutter’s team has been relatively prolific of late on home soil in the Bundesliga, scoring at least two goals in their last three outings.

Frankfurt will look to the likes of Andre Silva and Goncalo Paciencia for attacking inspiration, as the Portuguese pair have both scored three goals this season in the German top-flight.

Bayer Leverkusen (Odds of 23/20 for victory)

Leverkusen have enjoyed a similar start to their Bundesliga campaign as the home side, but have picked up three more points than their hosts. The visits have suffered just one defeat in eight outings in the German top-flight. A 1-1 draw with RB Leipzig last time out means that Bayer are undefeated in three league games, having recorded two wins and a draw.

Bayer have a very strong recent away record in the Bundesliga, winning five of their last six matches on their travels. The exception was a 4-0 away defeat at Dortmund earlier this season. Impressively, the visitors have also scored at least three goals in four of their last five away games in the German top-flight.

In Germany international Kevin Volland, Bayer have a player who has scored in his last three Bundesliga appearances. He will be confident of continuing that recent stellar scoring run in Frankfurt.

Bayer have had the upper hand in recent Bundesliga meetings between the two teams, winning four of the last six league meetings between the pair, including a 6-1 hammering towards the end of last season.

Conclusion

These sides are in similar form, so neither side will head into this clash as major favourites. Bayer Leverkusen may edge it on form, but Frankfurt will, of course, have a home advantage. This encounter could be a high-scoring one, with both containing a big attacking threat.

These two teams are just too hard to separate, so we are backing the draw. However, we would be surprised if there were not a lot of goals.
