Prediction and odds for the game: PSG (2/11) v Monaco (12/1)

We are backing over 3.5 goals at odds of 8/13

When: Sunday 12th January 2020, kick-off 8 PM

Where: The Parc des Princes

On Sunday night, PSG will look to extend their lead at the top of Ligue One when they host Monaco at the Parc des Princes.

PSG

The reigning French champions have enjoyed a typically dominant campaign so far in Ligue One. Thomas Tuchel’s team are four points clear of Marseille in second place, but the Parisians have two games in hand on OM.

The team from the French capital have won their last six games in the French top-flight, having scored at least twice in all of the recent victories, including at least three goals in their last three league outings.

As you would expect from such a dominant force as PSG, the home side has won 25 of their last 28 Ligue One games at the Parc des Princes. They have recorded five straight home matches in the French top-flight, having scored at least twice in all five victories.

While the champions have been relatively prolific on home soil of late in Ligue One, they have also kept clean sheets in eight of their last ten home matches.

Monaco

The visitors have enjoyed a solid campaign in Ligue One and are currently seventh place in the French top-flight, just three points behind the European spots.

Despite an improved season from last season, the team from the principality have replaced head coach Leonardo Jardim with Robert Moreno. The Spaniard came in as Monaco boss despite the former boss winning his last match 5-1 against Lille.

Moreno recorded a 2-1 win over Reims in the cup last weekend in his first game as the visitor’s boss. Monaco actually heads into this clash on the back on a four-game undefeated run, consisting of three wins and a draw. They have also scored at least two goals in all three recent victories.

Their recent Ligue One games have been high-scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five league matches.

Monaco’s recent away form in Ligue One has been inconsistent. However, dating back to last season the visitors form on their travels has been poor, with just two away wins in their last 14 Ligue One outings on the road. Just four away goals four goals in their last five away matches in the French top-flight has not helped Monaco’s away results.

Conclusion

PSG are always favourites when they take to the pitch in Ligue One. This game is no different. The home sides games are generally high-scoring, so we are backing the over 2.5 goals scored at 8/13. Talking about goals, we are also backing both teams to score at odds of 4/7, as Monaco have shown an improvement in form in front of goal of late.

Verdict: We are backing over 3.5 goals scored at odds of 8/13 and or both teams to score at odds of 4/7. (All odds are taken from Bet365).
