Prediction and odds for the game: Las Sabanas (5/4) v Chinandega (9/5)

We are backing the way win at odds of 9/5

When: Monday 23rd March 2020, Kick-off 00.00 AM

Where: The Estadio Municipal de Las Sabanas

In the early hours of Monday, Las Sabanas host Chinandega in the Nicaraguan Primera Division.

Las Sabanas

The home side has made a poor start to their Primera Division season, as they currently sit rock-bottom of the table having garnered just four points from their opening nine league outings.

A 5-0 humiliation at Juventus Managua last time out means that the home team has now failed to in seven league outings, suffering defeat on six occasions including their last four matches in the Primera Division.

Las Sabanas have struggled for goals in the Nicaraguan top-flight of late, as they have failed to score in four of their last five matches, scoring just once in the process. The fact that they have conceded at least twice in their last three league matches have certainly not helped them pick up points.

Home has offered very little advantage for Las Sabanas in the league, as they have failed to win in five matches on home soil. To make matters worse, they have suffered defeat in four of those five winless league games.

Their recent Primera Division matches have relatively low-scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in five of their last seven matches on home soil. However, they have conceded at least twice in three of their last four games.

Chinandega

The visitors have made an inconsistent start to their league campaign in Primera Division. They have picked 11 points from nine league outings so far. Last time out, Chinandega suffered a 1-0 defeat at Deportivo Octal. It was the third defeat in their last four league matches.

The result in their last league outing followed a familiar trend of late of low-scoring games, as six of their last eight matches have produced under 2.5 goals.

Roger Espinoza’s side has proven to be poor travellers of late in the Primera Division. The visitors have failed to win in the last nine matches on their travels, having lost four of their last five games away from home in the Nicaraguan top-flight.

A lack of goals has been a common theme for Chinandega away from home in recent months, as they have failed to score in four of their last six away games, scoring just twice in the run.

Conclusion

This one is relatively difficult to predict. Both teams have been in poor form of late. The home side has been underwhelming on home soil, while the visitors can’t seem to buy an away win at the moment. We are backing the visitors to record a narrow win in a high-scoring encounter, but it may not be by a massive margin.

Verdict: We are backing the away win at odds of 9/5 and/or the over 2.5 goals scored at odds of 23/20. (All odds are taken from Bet365).
