Prediction and odds for the game: Juventus (17/10) v Roma (13/10)

We are backing the home win

When: 01st August 2020, Kick-off 19:45

Where: The Allianz Stadium

On Saturday night, reigning champions Juventus host Roma at the Allianz Stadium on the final day of the Serie A season.

Juventus

The Bianconeri have already claimed the Scudetto this season, their ninth straight domestic title win. Maurizio Sarri’s team are four points clear of second-place Inter heading into this final game of the season. However, the reigning champions head into this clash in inconsistent form, having won just twice in their previous seven matches in Serie A. Last time out, the team from Turin suffered a 2-0 defeat at Cagliari.

The defeat means that the home team has lost two of their last three matches in the Italian top-flight, which is a poor run of form by the Bianconeri’s standards. However, they endured a similar sort of run towards the end of last season too.

The reigning champions form may have dipped of late, but most of their poor results have come away from Turin. Juventus are simply formidable on home soil, especially in Serie A, as they are undefeated in their previous 39 home games in the Italian top-flight.

Unsurprisingly, the Bianconeri have had the better of the recent meetings with the Giallorossi, as they have won four of the last six meetings in all competitions, suffering just one defeat in the run.

Roma

The visitors have already secured fifth-place in the table. However, Paulo Fonseca’s team are unable to claim a Champions League spot, as fourth-place Lazio are a massive 11 points ahead of the team from the capital.

Roma are finishing the campaign in a strong fashion, despite the big gap to the Champions League spots. In fact, they are undefeated in seven games in the Italian top-flight, having recorded six wins. The visitors have certainly not been short of goals of late either, as they have scored at least twice in their last seven games in Serie A. Their attacking form has contributed to their previous eight matches in the Italian top-flight producing over 2.5 goals.

Roma have hot some form on their travels of late, as the Giallorossi has won their last three league matches on the road, scoring at least three goals in all three games. However, going a bit further back and their record away from home is slightly mixed, as they have won four and lost four of their previous eight away matches in Serie A.

Conclusion

Neither side has anything on the line, as Juventus have already sealed the title, while Roma have claimed a Europa League spot. The home sides form has not been great, but at home, they are strong, which is why we are backing the home win. We believe there will be goals in this clash, so are also backing this game to produce over three goals.

Verdict: We are backing the home win at odds of 17/10 and over 3 goals scored at odds of 13/10 (All odds are taken from Bet365)
