Prediction & odds for the game: West Ham (8/11) v Sheffield United (17/4) – ST is backing the draw

When: Monday, 15th February @ 6pm K.O

Where: London Stadium

Old rivals West Ham United and Sheffield United will meet on Monday Night Football in what will be a huge game for both clubs in the Premier League.

West Ham

The David Moyes effect at the London Stadium has been one of the stories of the season so far with West Ham United riding an absolutely insane wave of momentum up to this point. They just keep on churning out positive results regardless of who is put in their way, and they’ll come into this game knowing that they’re the favourites. Now, it’s all about taking things one step at a time – because getting too far ahead of themselves could prove to be an issue.

The 4-0 win over Doncaster in the FA Cup gave West Ham a nice boost before they edged out a 3-2 win over Crystal Palace, and while they have been beaten by Liverpool in the league and Manchester United in the cup since then with a disappointing draw against Fulham thrown in there for good measure, they did beat Aston Villa to kickstart February.

Sheffield United

Sheffield United supporters know that relegation back into the Championship is a pretty likely outcome now after a disastrous second season back in the top flight, and because of that, we actually think they’re going to play without any fear. They may not quite be able to pull off what would be the greatest escape of all time but if they can string a few positive results together, there’s no reason why they can’t give it a shot.

Defeats to Chelsea and Manchester City were somewhat expected but outside of that, the Blades have been on fire. They’ve beaten Plymouth and Bristol City to reach the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, and they’ve also seen off the challenge of West Brom and Manchester United in the Premier League.

Conclusion

We actually think this is going to be a lot more competitive than some would expect it to be, with one of the reasons for that being the pressure levels involved for both clubs. West Ham are so high up the table that they may get a nosebleed and after Liverpool’s loss to Leicester, they’re positioned brilliantly to move into the top four. Sheffield United, on the other hand, have absolutely nothing to lose in that relegation scrap, which is why we actually think they’re going to fight their way to a draw.

Our official scoreline prediction here is going to be 2-2, ensuring we smash the over 2.5 goals bracket.

Verdict: Back the draw at odds of 13/5 and the over 2.5 goals scored at odds of 1/1 (All odds are taken from bet365).
