Prediction & odds for the game: Arsenal (31/20) v Tottenham (7/4) – ST is backing the draw

When: Sunday, 14th March @ 4.30pm K.O

Where: Emirates Stadium

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur will meet once again in an absolutely crucial North London derby at the Emirates on Sunday.

Arsenal

Arsenal fans are probably sick to death of the inconsistency they’ve seen from their side over the course of the last few months, but at the same time, there’s also a reason to be excited about what the future could hold for them as a club. It’s the definition of a double-edged sword but moving forward, the hope seems to be that the Gunners can put together a few strong transfer windows with Mikel Arteta at the helm.

A 1-1 draw against Benfica followed by a defeat to Manchester City immediately put Arsenal’s back against the wall heading into the end of February, but from there, they’ve been able to persevere. They beat Benfica in the return leg, beat Leicester, beat Olympiacos in the Europa’s Round of 16 first leg and were unlucky not to beat Burnley.

Tottenham

It’s safe to say Jose Mourinho may well have been on his way out of North London just a month or two or go, but now, the picture is starting to look very different. They’re in the League Cup final, they’re one of the favourites to win the Europa League and they’re in a decent position to make a sustained push for the top four. Plus, with Kane, Son & Bale firing on all cylinders, Spurs are finding the perfect time to hit a hot streak heading into the final few months of the campaign.

A 2-1 defeat to West Ham United on February 21st seemed to wake the sleeping giant of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club in a big way. Since then they’ve beaten Wolfsberger and Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League and they’ve also strung together three wins on the bounce against Burnley, Fulham and Crystal Palace. With that sort of momentum it’s not hard to understand why so many people are backing them to win this weekend.

Conclusion

This has the potential to be a really exciting NLD with both teams kind of needing to go for it. We think Spurs have more firepower but Arsenal probably have more desire and heart for the fight – or, at least, that’s how things are going to manifest as we make our way through the game. This should be pretty back and forth with both sides getting their shots in but in the end, we’re backing a draw in this one.

Our official scoreline prediction is going to be 2-2, meaning we break the over 2.5 goals boundary.

Verdict: Back the draw at odds of 12/5 and the over 2.5 goals scored at odds of 10/11 (All odds are taken from bet365).
