Prediction and odds for the game: West Ham (10/11) vs Brighton (3/1)

We are backing the home win at odds of 13/5

When: Wednesday 1 December 2021, Kick-off 19:30

Where: The London Stadium

On Wednesday night, West Ham will look to get back to winning ways on Wednesday night, as they host Brighton in the Premier League.

West Ham

The Hammers have suffered a slight dip in form of late in the Premier League, having suffered back-to-back Premier League defeats against Wolves and Manchester City. However, both of those defeats have come away from home. Before the losses, David Moyes’ team had recorded four straight league victories.

The good run of form took them into the Champions League spots and the Hammers are still fourth-place in the table. Fifth-place Arsenal have moved level on points with the home team, though, they have a vastly inferior goal difference to the Irons.

West Ham’s recent home record has been slightly inconsistent, as they have won just four of their previous nine matches at the London Stadium in the top-flight. They have recorded back-to-back home wins in the English top-flight though against Tottenham and Liverpool.

The Hammers have a poor recent defensive record on home soil in the English top-flight, as they have conceded at least two goals in four of their previous five matches.

Brighton

After a bright start to their Premier League campaign, things have down slightly south of late for the visiting Seagulls. A 0-0 draw against Leeds United last time out means that Graham Potter’s team are winless in eight league matches. However, six of the winless matches games have ended in draws, which is why Brighton are still eighth in the table, just five points adrift of the hosts.

The visitors have had real problems finding the net of late in the English top-flight, as only Tottenham, in the leagues top-14 teams have scored fewer goals than the team from the south coast.

Brighton have not been great on their travels in recent months, as a record of just two wins in their last 11 away games in the Premier League illustrates. They also head to the English capital on the back of four matches on their travels without a win in the English top-flight. Their recent away matches in the Premier League have been tight affairs, with under 2.5 goals scored in four of their previous five matches.

Conclusion

West Ham don’t want to lose the momentum that they built up before the two straight wins. However, Brighton are now an easy team to play against. The last five meetings between these two teams have finished in draws. We are backing this clash to follow in a similar vein. We also believe that this clash could be a close encounter, so we are backing under 2.5 goals scored.

Our Tips: We are backing the draw at odds of 13/5 and/or under 2.5 goals scored at odds of 10/11. (All odds are taken from Bet365).
