Prediction and odds for the game: Burnley (14/1) vs Manchester City (1/5)

We are backing Manchester City half-time/full-time at odds of 4/5

When: Saturday 2 April 2022, Kick-off 15:00

Where: Turf Moor

On Saturday afternoon, Burnley and Manchester City will go head-to-head at Turf Moor in a massive game at both ends of the Premier League table.

Burnley

Sean Dyche’s team are in trouble in the English top-flight, as the Clarets are currently in 18th place in the Premier League, four points adrift of 17th place Everton in the fight for survival.

After what seemed to be a revival at the beginning of the year, the Clarets head into this clash on the back of three straight league defeats. The defeats illustrated that Burnley have big problems at both ends of the pitch. They conceded at least two goals in all three defeats, while also failing to find the net in the poor run.

The Clarets poor home record has been a big reason for their current position in the table, as Dyche’s team has claimed victory in just one of their previous eight home games in the Premier League. They have also lost three of their last four league outings at Turf Moor.

Manchester City

The Citizens could well start this game in second place in the table, with title rivals Liverpool playing at home against Watford in Saturday’s early kick-off. City would be two points behind the men from Merseyside if as expected Jurgen Klopp’s team beat the Hornets.

Pep Guardiola’s team have slipped up several times in recent months in the Premier League. A 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace last time out in the English top-flight means that City have won just four of their last seven league matches, which by their recent high standards in the Premier League is a poor record.

However, the visitors have lost just once in their last 19 Premier League games. If they are to retain their title, though they cannot afford many more slip-ups this season in the top-flight.

Manchester City have been good travellers of late in the Premier League, as they are undefeated in 14 away matches in the league while recording a respectable 11 victories. Guardiola’s team has also kept clean sheets in five of their last seven league games on their travels.

Conclusion

This game is a typical struggler’s meet title contenders clash. City should come out on top with a comfortable win. The away win offers very little value. Instead, we are backing Manchester City half-time/full-time, as there is value to be had in that bet.

We are also taking a punt on under 2.5 goals scored, as Burnley will be looking to keep things tight, while City have not been prolific of late in front of goal. The home team has also struggled in front of goal of late.

Our Tips: We are backing Manchester City half-time/full-time at odds of 4/5 and/or under 2.5 goals scored at odds of 11/8. (All odds are taken from Bet365).
