Prediction and odds for the game: Crystal Palace (21/20) vs Leeds United (5/2)

We are backing the away win

When: Monday 25 April 2022, Kick-off 20:00

Where: Selhurst Park

On Monday night, Crystal Palace hosts Leeds United at Selhurst Park in the Premier League, as the visitors look to continue a strong recent run of form.

Crystal Palace

The Eagles have enjoyed a promising campaign reaching the FA Cup semi-finals and already all but securing their Premier League status for next season. However, they head into this game with very little to play for.

Mathematically Patrick Vieira’s team could still be sucked into the fight for survival. The team from the capital are nine points clear of 19th place Burnley, with just six games remaining. However, that looks like an unlikely scenario. Another win would certainly not do any harm though.

The Eagles’ problem is that they head into this clash on the back of three straight defeats in all competitions. Last time out they suffered a second straight league defeat, losing 1-0 at Newcastle.

Palace’s recent home recent isn’t the best either, as although they are unbeaten in three home matches in the Premier League, they have also won just once in six league games on home soil.

Leeds United

The team from Yorkshire have enjoyed a revival since the arrival of Jesse Marsch as Marcelo Bielsa’s replacement in the dugout. The Whites visit Palace on the back of a four-game unbeaten run in the Premier League having recorded three wins and a draw. Last time out, the visitors recorded a 3-0 win at struggling Watford.

The recent strong run of league form has seen Leeds break five points clear of the relegation zone. However, with a hard run of fixtures to come in the next few weeks, the visitors will feel that they need to pick something up from their trip to the capital to ensure they are not sucked back into the relegation dogfight.

One vital factor in Leeds’s recent improvement has been a return to form in front of goal, as the Yorkshire outfit has now scored at least two goals in three of their four unbeaten league matches.

Jesse Marsch’s team has also recorded back-to-back away wins in the Premier League at Wolves and Watford, scoring three goals in both victories. However, they had lost their previous three away games in the English top-flight.

Conclusion

Palace’s form has dipped and they are facing an in-form Leeds team. We really do fancy the visitors in this clash, so the first bet we are backing is the away win. The other bet we are backing is over 2.5 goals scored, as Leeds has been highly potent of late, while Palace has not been great at the back in recent weeks.

Our Tips: We are backing Leeds to win at odds of 5/2 and/or over 2.5 goals scored at odds of 4/5. (All odds are taken from Bet365).
