Prediction and odds for the game: Arsenal (19/20) v Eintracht Frankfurt (11/4) Back the over 2.5 goals scored at odds of 4.7.

When: Thursday 28th November 2019, Kick-off 8 PM

Where: The Emirates Stadium

On Thursday night, Arsenal will look to seal their place in the last 32 of the competition when they host German outfit Eintracht Frankfurt at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal

In truth, Arsenal heads into this clash on a terrible run of form, having failed to win in six games in all competitions. A 2-2 draw at home to relegation-threatened Southampton last time out means that the Gunners have now won just once in eight matches.

The recent poor run of form has led to speculation over the future of the Gunners Spanish boss Unai Emery. The former Sevilla boss will be hoping his team can lift their game, as a victory would see the Gunners book their place in the knockout stages of the competition.

Despite naming weakened teams in previous rounds of the Europa League, the home side has a good record in the competition. In fact, the team from north London have won eight of their last ten matches in the competition, having suffered just one defeat in the process.

The Gunners also have a strong recent home record in the Europa League, as they are unbeaten in 12 matches, having recorded ten victories. The home side has also scored at least twice in their last six games in this competition.

Eintracht Frankfurt

The German visitors head into this game on the back of a three-game losing run, including a 2-0 home defeat against Wolfsburg last time out. The defeat leaves Adi Hutter’s team ninth-place in the Bundesliga.

The visitor’s form has been inconsistent in all competitions in truth of late. Their inconsistencies are illustrated in the fact they have won three and lost three of their last six games in the Europa League. Last time out in the competition they suffered a 2-1 defeat at Standard Liege.

The result means that they are third in the group level on points with Standard, but four points behind Thursday night’s opponents in the race for qualification.

Like their general recent record in the Europa League, Frankfurt’s away form has been inconsistent in this competition. They have won three and lost two of their last five matches on their travels in the Europa League.

Frankfurt have only ever failed to score once in their 20 away games in this competition. They will fancy their chances of keeping that scoring record going against a highly vulnerable Arsenal backline.

Conclusion

This is a vital game for Arsenal boss Emery. His team have to start producing better performances and quickly. We are backing a narrow home win at 19/20, but that is with a slight note of caution. We are backing the over 2.5 goals at odds of 4/7 with far more confidence, as Arsenal concede a lot of goals and Frankfurt possess a big attacking threat.

Verdict: Back the over 2.5 goals at odds of 4/7 and/or the home win at odds of 19/20.
