Prediction and odds for the game: Monchengladbach (17/4) v Bayern Munich (1/2) We are backing the draw at odds of 15/4.

When: 07th December 2019, Kick-off 2:30 PM

Where: Stadion im Borussia Park

In what promises to be the game of the weekend in the Bundesliga, leaders Monchengladbach host champions Bayern Munich.

Monchengladbach

The Foals have been the surprise package in the Bundesliga this season. Marco Rose’s team are top of the table, a point clear of second-place RB Leipzig and a further three clear of the visitors.

Gladbach head into this clash on the back of a 4-2 win over Freiburg last time out. The win saw the home side get back to winning ways after a shock 2-0 defeat against Union Berlin in gameweek 12.

Monchengladbach have now won eight of their last ten matches in the German top-flight. The Foals attacking prowess has helped the home side’s recent form, as they have now scored at least twice in seven of their last nine league matches.

Their home form has also proven a big factor in their lofty position in the table, as Rose’s team have won five consecutive victories on home soil in the Bundesliga, having scored at least twice in each victory.

Bayern Munich

The season has not gone to plan for Bayern Munich. The Bavarians have already fired Croatian boss Miko Kovac and Hans-Dieter Flick is currently in charge on an interim basis. Things were going well for the temporary boss, as he won his first four games in charge in all competitions, without conceding a goal.

However, Flick’s good start came to an end last time out with a shock 2-1 home defeat against Bayer Leverkusen. The defeat means that the reigning German champions have won just three of their last seven Bundesliga games, which is certainly not the record of champions.

Despite Bayern’s recent inconsistency, what has changed is that their recent league matches have been high-scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in the visitors last nine league outings.

Unsurprisingly considering their patchy start to the Bundesliga campaign, the champions recent away form has not been great, as they have won just three of their last eight away games in the German top-flight.

However, just like their recent league games in general, their recent away matches have been high-scoring in the Bundesliga, with over 2.5 goals scored in five of their last six outings.

The visitors have been dangerous in attack on their travels in the German top-flight, scoring in 19 of their last 20 away games in the Bundesliga.

Conclusion

Monchengladbach could prove their title credentials by beating the reigning champions. However, the Bavarians are not an easy team to beat and cannot afford to slip further behind in the race for the title and we believe they will have enough to claim a draw. The other bet we are recommending is the over 2.5 goals scored at odds of 4/11, which doesn’t offer much value, but looks a pretty decent bet.

Verdict: Back the draw at odds of 15/4 and/or over 2.5 goals scored at odds of 4/11. (All odds are taken from Bet365).
