Prediction and odds for the game: Milan (8/15) v Udinese (5/1)
We are backing the under 2.5 goals scored
When: Sunday 19th January 2020, Kick-off 11:30 PM
Where: The San Siro
This season has been one of frustration for everybody connected with AC Milan. The Rossoneri have struggled for any sort of consistency. On Sunday morning, the men from Milan host Udinese at the San Siro.
Recent results have been highly inconsistent, but one league win in their last four games is certainly not a great record. Last time out, the home side recorded a 2-0 win at Cagliari, which ended a three-game winless run in Serie A for Stefano Pioli’s team.
Apart from the victory, there was another positive to take from the win, in that it saw Milan keep a third clean sheet in their last four league outings. Those recent clean sheets have contributed to six of Milan’s last eight league games producing under 2.5 goals.
The San Siro has offered very little home comforts of late for Milan, as the Rossoneri has won just one of their last eight Serie A games at their world-renowned stadium. They have drawn their last three home games in the Italian top-flight and are currently on a run of four winless games on home soil in Serie A.
Milan’s recent meetings with the visitors have been close and relatively tight affairs, with the last four games between the pair producing under 2.5 goals.
Udinese would move above Milan in the table with a victory at the San Siro, as the visitors are just a point below their hosts in the Serie A table.
In contrast to the Rossoneri, the Bianconeri have been in good form of late, recording three straight league wins, including a 3-0 home win over Sassuolo last time out in Serie A.
Despite that recent positive league form, Udinese’s away form in the Italian top-flight has been poor. However, a 1-0 win at Lecce in their last league match on their travels ended a three-game losing streak on the road for the team from Udine.
Although there has not been much between these two teams in recent meetings, the team from Udine have won just once in their last 12 visits to the San Siro. Due to their recent upturn in form, they will be eyeing another away win.
We believe that Milan will record a narrow victory in a low-scoring encounter to within a few points of the European spots in Serie A. Therefore, we are backing the under 2.5 goals scored at odds of 4/5. We are backing the low-scoring game, as these two teams are among the least prolific in the Italian top-flight.
Verdict: We are backing under 2.5 goals at odds of 4/5 and or the home win at odds of 8/15. (All odds are taken from Bet365).[geosnippet id=3620]
