Prediction and odds for the game: Brentford (13/20) v Nottingham Forest (9/2)

We are backing the draw at odds of 13/5

When: Tuesday 28th January 2020, Kick-off 7:45 PM

Where: Griffin Park

On Tuesday night, Brentford and Nottingham Forest go head-to-head at Griffin Park, in what could be a pivotal game in the fight for the play-off spots in the Championship.

Brentford

The Bees are enjoying a solid season in the Championship and are currently fifth-place in the table. This could be a vital encounter for Thomas Frank’s team, as the Bees are just a point behind Forest and five points outside the automatic promotion spots. A win would be massive in the race for promotion to the Premier League.

Brentford’s form has been slightly inconsistent of late. However, after a goalless draw at Huddersfield last time out in the league, the Bees have won five of their last eight Championship matches, which is a decent record.

The home sides performance in front of goal has been a key to their promotion challenge this season. Only league leaders Leeds and midtable QPR have scored more goals than the Bees in the Championship this season.

A player who has played a pivotal role in Brentford’s attacking displays this season is striker Ollie Watkins, who has scored 18 times in 28 appearances in the second tier this season.

Nottingham Forest

Forest head into this big clash on the back of a six-game unbeaten run in the Championship. The Tricky Trees will be disappointed by a 1-1 home draw against Reading last time out. The draw leaves the sides from the Midlands just four points adrift of the automatic promotion spots.

Forest will not just be looking up, but also down as well as seventh place Swansea City are just three points behind the visitors. At the start of the season achieving a play-off would have been an achievement for Forest. They will not want it to slip in their current position.

One facet of their game that Forest will need to improve if they are to maintain their promotion push is their away form. Sabri Lamouchi’s team have been inconsistent on their travels of late, winning just three of their last nine Championship outings on the road.

Forest have won the last two meetings with Brentford. However, the visitors have also won just three of their last 11 competitive games against the home side.

Conclusion

There is not much between these two teams in terms of position in the table and arguably quality. We can choose between them, so we are backing the draw.

The other bet we are backing is both teams to score, as with strikers like Ollie Watkins and Lewis Grabban on the pitch both teams are dangerous in attack.

Verdict: We are backing the draw at odds of 13/5 and or both teams to score at odds of 10/11. (All odds are taken from Bet365).
