On Tuesday night, Nantes host reigning French champions PSG in Ligue One, as the home side attempt to prevent the juggernaut that is the team from the French capital.

The home side are just two points outside the European spots, despite being eight place in the table. However, a recent poor run of form has not helped their chances of a return to the top-four in the near future, In fact, Christian Gourcuff’s team have now lost three of their last four league outings after a 3-2 defeat at Rennes last time out.

Despite the result last time out, Nantes recent games have been low-scoring affairs in Ligue One, as there has been under 2.5 goals scored in five of their last seven matches in the French top-flight.

Nantes home form has not been great of late in Ligue One, as they have now lost four of their last six outings in the French top-flight. Their recent home games in the league have been relatively low-scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in nine of their last 12 outings on home soil.

The reigning champions have been particularly consistent of late in the French top-flight, winning nine of their last ten games, including hammering Montpellier 5-0 at the Parc Des Princes last time out. The victory saw Thomas Tuchel’s team score at least two goals for the tenth straight match in Ligue One.

At the time of writing, the team from the French capital are 13 points clear of Marseille in second place, with OM still to play at Bordeaux later today.

PSG have a strong recent away record in the French top-flight, winning nine of their last ten games on their travels, including their last five away matches in Ligue One. A key to those recent good away results has been their attacking prowess, as Tuchel’s team has scored at least twice in all five of those aforementioned victories on the road.

Although they have not been incredibly stable in defence on their travels, they have only conceded six goals in their last ten away games in Ligue One.

Highly-rated strike-pair Kylian Mbappe and Neymar have played a key role in the visitors prolific scoring of late, scoring 14 and 13 goals respectively in the French top-flight this season.

Nantes poor recent form in Ligue One does not bode well ahead of the meeting with the league leaders. We can see the Parisians recording another comfortable victory in a high-scoring game, as Nantes have not been great defensively, while PSG are notoriously strong in attack.

Verdict: We are backing the over 2.5 goals scored at odds of 4/7 and/or the away win. (All odds are taken from Bet365).
