Prediction and odds for the game: Molde (15/4) v Arsenal (13/20)

We are backing both teams to score at odds of 4/6

When: Thursday, 26th November 2020, Kick-off 17:55

Where: Aker Stadion

On Thursday evening, Norwegian side Molde host Arsenal at the Aker Stadion in gameweek four of the Europa League.

Molde

The home recently surrendered their top-flight title to Bodo/Glimt, despite there still being five rounds of games left in the Eliteserien. Bodo/Glimt is now unassailable, so the former champions Molde will now turn their attention to the Europa League.

The home side has experienced a relatively strong campaign so far, winning two of their three games in Group B. They defeated Dundalk and Rapid Vienna before a 4-1 hammering at the Emirates Stadium in the reverse fixture to this one.

The defeat is part of an inconsistent recent record for Molde in the Europa League, as they have won just two of their last six games in the competition. Although their recent games in the Europa League have not all been high-scoring, both teams have scored in their last six outings.

The Norwegian team has struggled for victories on their travels in the Europa League, winning just two of their previous eight away games in the competition. Both teams have also scored in Molde’s last five away matches in the Europa League.

Arsenal

It seems that the Gunners have yet to kick into gear this season. Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has tried a more pragmatic approach in the league this season in an attempt to make his side hard to score against and beat. Unfortunately, it seems to have made their attack much less effective in the process. A 0-0 draw at Leeds after having Nicolas Pe[e sent-off last time out illustrated those two points. The Gunners have now failed to score in four of their last five top-flight matches.

Despite their relative struggles in the Premier League, the Gunners have been superb in the Europa League this season, winning all three of their group games. Unlike the Premier League, in which they have struggled for goals, Arteta’s team has been prolific in front of goal in Europe, scoring at least twice in all three of their group games.

The team from north London also have a positive recent away record in the Europa League, as they are unbeaten in five outings on their travels. The Gunners have also failed to score in just one of their last 13 away matches in the Europa League.

Conclusion

The Europa League has been Arsenal’s happy place of late, as their league form campaign has floundered. We can see the Gunners recording a victory, but the away win does not offer great odds. Instead, we are going for both teams to score, as Molde seem to offer a decent attacking threat, while Arsenal’s attack comes alive in this competition. The other bet we are recommending is over 2.5 goals scored, which is for the same reasons as backing both teams to score.

Verdict: We are back both teams to score and over 2.5 goals both at odds of 4/6. (Odds are taken from Bet365)
