Prediction and odds for the game: Everton (10/11) v Leeds United (14/5)

We are backing Richarlison to be an anytime goalscorer at odds of 6/4

When: Saturday, 28th November 2020, Kick-off 17:30

Where: Goodison Park

On Saturday evening, Everton and Leeds meet at Goodison Park, as the home side look to prove their top-six credentials in the Premier League.

Everton

This season has been a roller-coaster one for the home side. The Toffees won their opening four league games before a home draw with Liverpool kicked off a run of four games without a league win. However, a three-game losing streak ended last time out in a 3-2 win at Fulham.

The game saw the return to the starting line-up of influential Brazilian winger Richarlison from suspension. The Toffees have yet to win without the forward since he joined in the summer of 2018. Carlo Ancelotti’s team were missing several key players in that poor run of league form. The Merseysider’s head into this game close to full strength, with only Republic of Ireland full-back Seamus Coleman an injury doubt.

The Toffees have been tough to beat at Goodison Park in recent seasons. Ancelotti’s team heads into this game on the back of a record of just two defeats in their last 16 league games on home soil.

Leeds United

It is fair to say that Leeds United have experienced mixed fortunes in their first season back in the Premier League for 16 years. They have claimed 11 points from their opening nine matches in the English top-flight.

That tally would have been more had it not been for some bad fortune against Arsenal last time out in a 0-0 draw. The Gunners had forward Nicolas Pepe sent-off in the second period, but the Marcelo Bielsa’s team failed to take advantage.

The draw against the Gunners means that the visitors have won just one of their last six games in the Premier League, including losing three of their last five games in the top-flight. There was a positive from the goalless draw with Arsenal for Leeds in that they kept just their second sheet of the season in the top-flight.

Two of Leeds three league wins have come away from Elland Road at Sheffield United and Aston Villa. However, they have also suffered league defeats on their travels against Liverpool and Crystal Palace.

Despite their meetings being infrequent of late, Leeds do not have a great recent history against Everton, winning just one of the last six meetings between the two teams. They have also not won at Goodison Park since the 1991/92 season.

Conclusion

When on song going forward, Everton are thrilling to watch. They will score goals this season, but they are also awful in defence. Leeds have a very defined style of play under Bielsa, which is likely to play into the home teams hands.

We are predicting goals and one of the bets we are backing is Richarlison to be an anytime goalscorer. The former Watford looked dangerous last time out and we think he will get on the scoresheet in this clash. The other bet we are recommending is the home win, as we believe that the Toffees just have too much firepower for the visitors.

Verdict: We are backing Richarlison to be an anytime goalscorer at odds of 6/4 and the home win at odds of 10/11. (All odds are taken from Bet365)
