Prediction & odds for the game: Brighton (9/2) v Liverpool (4/7) – ST is backing the away win

When: Saturday, 28th November @ 12.30pm K.O

Where: Amex Stadium

Brighton & Hove Albion will try to take advantage of Liverpool’s congested schedule when the two meet in the Saturday lunchtime game in the Premier League.

Brighton

Despite some of the concerns with regards to how many points they’re dropping this season, Brighton & Hove Albion seem to be building a nice team and system for themselves under the guidance of Graham Potter. It’s clear to see that there are limits within their current squad and there’s no way of getting around that until January, but when you consider how poor some of the other sides in the relegation battle are, Seagulls fans probably shouldn’t be feeling all too concerned right now.

It’s definitely been a rocky road for Brighton as of late, starting off with a 4-2 defeat against Everton back at the start of October. They then drew 1-1 with Crystal Palace and West Brom in games they’ll feel like they could’ve won, before losing to Tottenham and playing out a dull 0-0 against Brighton. Their saving grace, however, was a big 2-1 victory against high-flyers Aston Villa.

Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp has made his feelings about the current nature of the schedule very clear, and while there isn’t a whole lot he can do to change it, you can bet he’ll try and stick it to the world of football in the only way he knows how – by winning. The Reds have a series of injury problems to worry about but they’re still easily one of the best clubs in European football, and they’ll fancy their chances of coming away with a positive result tomorrow.

Even after a poor performance against Midtjylland they were able to win 2-0, and that trend continued into November. They beat West Ham 2-1, hammered Atalanta 5-0, were fortunate to draw against Manchester City and ran through potential title challengers Leicester at Anfield. They did lose to Atalanta in the Champions League earlier this week, but they’re still in a strong position to qualify for the knockout stage.

Conclusion

This isn’t going to be an easy game for Liverpool to navigate with Brighton taking a lot of teams to the limit so far during the campaign. Alas, the visitors are on a whole different level to most clubs within England’s top flight, and we expect them to prove that in a big way this weekend. We do think they will probably concede given their defensive woes, but in the end, Liverpool will be able to overcome adversity and pick up all three points.

Our official scoreline prediction is going to be 3-1, ensuring that we hit the over 2.5 goals market.

Verdict: Back the away win at odds of 4/7 and the over 2.5 goals scored at odds of 4/7 (All odds are taken from bet365).
