Prediction & odds for the game: Tottenham (1/2) v Fulham (11/2) – ST is backing the home win

When: Wednesday, 30th December @ 6pm K.O

Where: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Tottenham Hotspur will attempt to get their title push back on track this week as they prepare to host relegation strugglers Fulham.

Tottenham

It doesn’t seem as if Jose Mourinho is going anywhere anytime soon, and with that in mind, Tottenham Hotspur supporters will have to come to terms with the fact that they aren’t going to be playing the most beautiful football for the remainder of the campaign. One of the Portuguese manager’s primary aims will be to win a piece of silverware during his tenure in North London, but that’s going to be easier said than done.

Wins over Antwerp and Stoke in the Europa League and Carabao Cup haven’t been enough to stem the lingering fears that are present within the club right now. Spurs fell short in a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace two weeks ago and followed that up with defeats to Liverpool and Leicester, and then against Wovles, they let an early 1-0 lead slip in what should’ve been a very winnable game.

Fulham

After initially coming across as certainties for the drop, Fulham have enjoyed a handful of positives results throughout the last few months that have reaffirmed the belief they can stay in the Premier League beyond this season. There’s still a long way to go but Scott Parker is finally coming across as the right man for the job, and even though things are going to be tough between now and May, they’ve got what it takes to make this a real fight.

After a surprise 2-1 win over Leicester and a hard-fought defeat against Manchester City, you could argue that Fulham have been quite consistent. They drew against Liverpool, drew against Brighton, drew against Newcastle and even managed to hold Southampton to a goalless draw on Boxing Day.

Conclusion

Nothing is going to change the way Jose Mourinho sets his team up, mainly because that’s the way he’s been operating since he first made his way into the management game. Another tense 90 minutes are going to be on the horizon for Spurs fans but this time, we think they’ll be able to break their poor run of Premier League form with a much needed win over Fulham. The Cottagers are going to give as good as they get, but they won’t be able to prevent the hosts from escaping with the win.

Our official scoreline prediction is going to be 1-0 Tottenham, ensuring we stick with the under 2.5 goals market – so don’t expect too many fireworks.

Verdict: Back the home win at odds of 1/2 and the under 2.5 goals scored at odds of 10/11 (All odds are taken from bet365).
