Prediction and odds for the game: Burnley (19/4) vs Arsenal (3/5)

We are backing the away win

When: Saturday, 6th March 2021, Kick-off 12:30

Where: Turf Moor

In the Premier League’s early kick-off on Saturday, Burnley host Arsenal at Turf Moor, in a game that could be vital in the home team’s chances of avoiding relegation in the Premier League this season.

Burnley

The Clarets head into this clash on a run of four games without a league victory, which has lead to some nervous glances at the relegation zone. Sean Dyche’s team are now just six points above the drop zone in the English top-flight. Their recent form has not helped the doubts setting in at the club from Lancashire. They are certainly in need of a victory or two to sit more comfortably.

One of Burnley’s main problems this season in the top-flight has been scoring goals, as the Clarets have scored just 19 goals this season, which is the second-lowest tally in the Premier League after rock bottom Sheffield United.

The Clarets recent home record is poor, as they have failed to win in five league matches in the English top-flight. However, they have drawn their last four Premier League games at Turf Moor. Their last five home matches in the league have been low-scoring of late.

Arsenal

The Gunners have been highly inconsistent of late in the Premier League, as they have won two and lost two of their previous five matches. Last time out, Mikel Arteta’s team recorded a 3-1 win at Champions League-chasing Leicester. The visitor’s inconsistent form has left Arsenal in tenth-place in the Premier League, nine points adrift of the European spots. The team from north London have a difficult task on their hands attempting to finish in the Premier League’s top-six this season.

Arsenal’s defensive record had shown improvement in the early stages of Arteta’s reign. However, the visitors have been poor defensively of late, keeping just one clean sheet in their last eight Premier League games.

The Gunners inconsistent recent away form has hampered their chances of making the European spots this season. However, a record of four wins from their last six Premier League away games is not terrible. They have been relatively prolific on their travels of late in the English top-flight, having scored at least three goals in three of their previous five away games.

Conclusion

It is hard to back either of these two teams to win, as Burnley have been poor of late, while Arsenal have just been so inconsistent this season. However, we fancy the Gunners to record a win in this game, simply because they seem they seem to be a dangerous team on their travels. We are also backing under 2.5 goals, as Burnley’s home games tend to be low-scoring.

Verdict: We are backing the away win at odds of 3/5 and/or under 2.5 goals scored at odds of 10/11. (All odds are taken from Bet365).
