Prediction and odds for the game: Manchester City (13/20) vs PSG (7/2)

We are backing Kylian Mbappe to be an anytime goalscorer at odds of 13/10

When: Tuesday, 4th May 2021, Kick-off 20:00

Where: The Etihad Stadium

On Tuesday night, Manchester City host PSG at the Etihad Stadium in the Champions League semi-final second leg. The first leg finished 2-1 to City, so the visitors have it all to do to turn the tie around.

Manchester City

Since recording that potentially pivotal win in Paris in the first leg, Pep Guardiola’s team recorded a 2-0 win at Crystal Palace to move closer to yet another Premier League title. If the Citizens do as expected and win the title, it will mean that they will have been crowned English champions three times in just four seasons.

The real holy grail for City in recent campaigns has been the Champions League, though. They put one foot into the Champions League final with the win in the first leg. However, they still have work to do to get past their French visitors.

The Citizens recent record in Europe’s elite competition suggests that they will see the job through. The men from Manchester are unbeaten in 11 matches in the Champions League, having won 11 times. They have also won their last six games in the competition while scoring at least two goals in all the wins.

PSG

The reigning French champions have a battle on their hands to retain their domestic title, with Lille proving to be worthy opponents in the Ligue One title race. Their status as French champions is under major threat this season.

However, like City, the Champions League has been a competition that the club from the French capital have hoped to win since the current owners took over. Of course, they made the final of the competition last season but suffered defeat by German giants Bayern Munich. They will need all their quality to make it to the final this season.

The first leg defeat means that the visitors have won just one of their last four games in the Champions League. It was also a second straight defeat in the competition.

There is one big positive for PSG of late in the Champions League, though, in their away record. The French outfit has won six of their last seven matches on their travels in the competition while scoring at least two goals in each of the victories. Their good away record faces a major test in Manchester that is for sure.

Conclusion

Manchester City are big favourites to nook their place in the Champions League final. A home win offers very little value, so instead, we are going to go for it to be a draw at half-time and City win at full time. The other bet we are backing is Kylian Mbappe to be an anytime goalscorer, as the starlet has scored five goals in PSG’s last two games in this competition.

Verdict: We are backing draw/Manchester City at odds of 15/4 and Kylian Mbappe anytime goalscorer at odds of 13/10. (All odds are taken from Bet365)
